Upon arrival at the Sonesta Select, Newark, DE, we were greeted by Lamont. He was congenial knowledgeable and most of all wanted to know how he could be of assistance. He invited us to provide feedback on our stay at this location and on his performance. The accommodations and facilities were clean and comfortable. The lobby as well as the indoor was impressive. Kiara greeted us on Sunday morning, the 31st. She was equally as friendly and went over and above to ensure we had a comfortable stay, however our room (425) does require minor repairs - the curtain rod was detached on the leftside, the bathroom door edge was splintered and the bath tub faucet drips. Staff was very friendly

The room was spacious enough for everybody. The area had a lot of restaurant options and was close to Christiana mall. The only issue was that the room had not been cleaned completely before we arrived. The bathroom sink was dirty and the desk had obviously been eaten at and not wiped down. There were also dirty towels on the floor in the living area. Overall for the price I feel that it wasn't that big of a deal. I'm pretty laid-back so other people might not feel the same!

Why am i paying $120+$$$$ per night as an out of state guest? The rooms are dirty , mirrors needed cleaning, carpet stinks, mattress feels like there's a hole in the middle, the iron was filthy & made a mess of my newly bouggt white pants. Walking toward the elevator and the elevator smells like crude oil/gasoline, the carpet & all the furniture are all filthy, our bed sheets/comforters were unclean, towels in the shower weren't all clean, no complementary breakfast etc. It was a total nightmare. But the most disgusting thing for me was, seeing a resident sitting in the lobby bare feet & nasty. Also lots of garbage in the front of most rooms. Something I've never ever experienced in my life. Ive stayed @ the said Hotel in St Maarten & my stay was excellent. But my recent experience in Delaware, is one for the books. Never ever would i recommend the Sonesta in Delaware to anyone.

They need to clean the carpets, it gives the hotel a bad odor and replace ceiling tiles. Also around the parking area needs maintenance

Their system was down, no room key can be issued. Front desk lady had to open the door for us, we will have to keep it unlocked while going back to luggage. Room had a weird smell, they tried to cover it with spray but still pretty strong. Front desk lady was very nice though. The area not so much, had random homeless people hanging around parking lot in their car.. I guess that’s why you can see cameras everywhere. At least they tried.

none of the doors open from the outside, after being told to find a place to park near the room and then bring all your things to the front door. The TV didn't work, I was offered to switch rooms when I discovered at 9pm, but it was too late. There is no coffee/ food service on site, just coffee in the room; the kitchen is "under renovation" But the real problem here is the obvious drug trafficking and drug use on site. I saw at least one deal happening, and there were multiple people passed out in cars in the parking lot after getting high. It was blatant and so in the open I can only imagine that it was a known problem. I appreciate that there are drugs and users everywhere, but I was shocked. I would avoid this hotel, and I will never be going back.

The overall property is average. Checking in and out takes longer than I expected.

We checked in in the afternoon and immediately left. When we returned for the night at approximately 9:30 PM, we found by the bathroom was dirty. The shower had trash in it and was completely unusable. There were feces on the bathroom wall in multiple places. Upon checkout, I informed the front desk agent that the bathroom had not been cleaned. I did not go into details as I never intend to stay at this hotel again.

The room was hot when we entered and the air conditioner just couldn’t cool the room. Ice machine wasn’t working had to go upstairs. There was no breakfast available. Liked microwave and small refrigerator

The room was clean, but hallways were dirty.

Most unpleasant. Manager was horrible. The staff did their best. Could not get cards to open the room door. Pictures on line were not accurate at all. Location was good. That was the only good thing about our stay.

Hoyel loby is not clean, 150 deposit is very high no breakfast made me mad

Everything about my stay was amazing except for the $150 hold placed on my card in addition to paying for the room.

Terry was great! Very helpful and informative. Any negative feedback has nothing to do with him. Room 109. Terry was great to hand deliver our key when someone else had the one device to make keys. Took a couple hours. Odd. Pillows smelled like sour feet. Terry promptly helped fix that too. Room sink is very clogged and we had to use the bathtub to brush out towel. This is our third visit and it’s always very short staffed with thankfully nice staff because there’s a lot of stuff each time. And why is there a kitchen but it’s never up and running? So much lost revenue and inconvenience for guests.

The room was dirty and had what I assume was something dropped on the floor at one point thrown on the wall. The carpets were filthy all over the hotel and appeared to have not been cleaned in years. The photographs on your website didn’t mirror the property at all and it was very disappointing. Finally there was rarely someone at the front desk and when there was they weren’t in a uniform and didn’t look to work there.
