SureStay Plus Hotel by Best Western The Villages

This is a budget minded hotel convenient to The Villages and several nearby restaurants. The staff upon check-in and check-out was pleasant. The internet worked fine and the breakfast was basic and located in a very small space, adjacent to the front desk. The fundamental problem I had (and I won't return) was the ubiquitous marijuana stench within the room and around every corner. Everyone seemed to be smoking it and there was no escape. The room itself (with the exception of the filthy rug) seemed clean and the vanity was newer. Unfortunately, the air conditioner blew warm air 24/7 and the toilet ran every 10 minutes. You get what you pay for and I should have known this sub $100 hotel was going to be a dud. The Comfort Suites (which I also stayed at) right next door is the better overall hotel and value, all things considered.

I like the the pool was tucked in its own little area and had coverage by trees so it wasnt so hot

Need to have rules so when dog go to the bathroom in the grass, the owner of the dog need to pick up the poop

The Staff was outstanding trash around the property is depressing, I've pick up more trash around the property than any other Hotel we've stayed at

This hotel has a hidden policy of not allowing guests to stay for more than 14 days unless they take a 1 week break and stay somewhere else I was told by the manager that the hotel owns the cheap insurance policy which does not let people stay for longer than 14 days or they become residents here. I booked through Expedia and I was not allowed to check in at 10:30 p.m. and I had to find somewhere else to stay very late at night. The staff told me that they could not contact me and David had no way to reach me which is incorrect because they could simply have contacted me via Expedia. I had to get a refund from Expedia. Do not book this hotel if you want to stay for more longer than 14 days they will exit you and they will not like to check in.

Great place to get a good night sleep

We had an issue with one of the gals traveling with me fell in the shower Tuesday morn the 22nd of July. She is disabled and needs a cane to walk. Upon checking in to the hotel on day before, I asked if we could please have a shower chair, and she told us that they are in the special disability rooms, and they were all occupied, so the answer was no. She was trying to be very careful when showering Tuesday morn but she still slipped and fell, hurting her foot and side and hand. Me and the other gal traveling with us called down to the front desk that morning to inform about the fall and could we Please get a shower chair! 2 nice ladies came up and gave us a shower chair. The friend who fell also filled out an incident report and she turned that in to front desk later that day. We also requested a tub mat, and someone delivered that and put it in tub. We wondered then why there wasn’t a mat in tub to begin with? Or at least have one in every room unused and rolled up so that if someone is staying and wants one in the tub they could put it down instead of calling for one! (Or going to target and buying one! We did on our return trip home. It was less than 5.00!) My friend was not injured other than a huge black bruise(and some pain) on her right hip side, bruise and swelling on bottom and side of one foot, and swollen fingers on one hand. None of which warranted a hospital or ER visit. We all appreciated very much the quick and professional response from management.

Great place to beat the heat. Bed was comfortable. Had a couple great nights of sleep.

Didnt truly clean the bathroom. They left me with a used bar of soap in the shower. Key card didn’t work half the time. Staff said no smoking in the room or balcony yet they were vaping in the doorway.
