I always stay at the Bards Inn when in Ashland.

The property doesn’t have even close to enough parking spots for the amount of rooms. We were told that we would just have to try to find a spot on the streets. This meant carrying our luggage down the street up a very steep driveway and up a flight of stairs because they don’t have an elevator. Also their street parking does not have proper lighting so felt a little unsafe. Also it is not dog friendly! Again had to go down stairs, down a steep driveway with no sidewalk on the side and limited visibility for cars pulling in. The room was also very crowded. We barely had enough space for a 10 pound dog!

My only complaint is, I couldn’t find any glasses or cups. That’s because they were under the sink in the bathroom. My one recommendation is for them to put up a small sign which says that that is where you can find them. Otherwise a really great stay!!!

Shakesperean-themed motel with noisy A/C and 90’s Home Depot-quality furnishings. Sad buffet breakfast—plastic food.

It was wonderful to be within walking of everything in Ashland. However, the hotel needs work. The beds were horrible, broken down, back hurts. There was not adequate shampoo and conditioner for 2 people. The room was dark and depressing, needs light paint to make the space feel bigger and lighter. Getting hot water took a long time. We'd like to stay again in the future and hope these suggestions help.

Nice and clean.

The dog wing of the hotel could use an upgrade or remodel. It's not as nice as the other buildings. Otherwise it was great!

The air conditioning unit was very loud when it turned on, and room was poorly lit. Bed not comfortable and able to hear next room occupants chatting. Location is excellent for walking around Ashland and attending plays.

It’s a good location. The room needs a table for water burner and cups and not hidden under water sink.

Convenient location

This property is on Main Street and walkable to the historic Main St. Our room smelled like urine and I realized that I had booked a pet friendly room without knowing it. The front staff graciously upgraded us to a pet free room.

Comfortable

The room smelled like dog urine. The pillows and bedding were old and lumpy. The bed had hair in it. The room was small despite it being an upgraded King room. The location was great, close to downtown and parking was easy.

Staff was great! The lobby was nice, but the guest rooms in the main building are very old. It was hard to tell this from the online photos. BW bought a 60+ year old motel and did some minor updates. It was fine, but would stay here again, especially at this price point.

Excellent breakfast. Took my two little dogs to this hotel. Great place!! Also, nice pool and jacuzzi.

The Bard's Inn is comfortable and welcoming, and an easy stroll down the street to restaurants, shops and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival shows

Then room was clean and comfortable. The property has been very nicely maintained. Because their is no elevator, staff was very helpful and helped me with my luggage.

The room was very clean. The check in staff was friendly and thorough. There were a lot of breakfast choices available. The only area I gave it a 3 is the room itself. It was definitely dated, and the balcony sliding door didn’t lock. It had a wooden dowel on the inside so someone from the outside could not open it. However, the bed was very comfortable.

Just returned from my 3rd stay at the Bard's Inn and it will not be the last. I absolutely love everything about this hotel. The location is prime. Very close to downtown shops and restaurants 1-3 minutes. 5 minute walk to Lithia Park. Staff is very friendly. Extremely quiet. I saw other guests but I didn't hear a peep from them the entire time from within my room. I traveled with 2 children this time around and they loved the pool and breakfast options. I've also stayed here solo and with my husband. It offers something for all travelers. I feel extremely safe and secure. The rooms are clean and as photographed. Parking is plentiful and secure. Highly recommend. Looking forward to my next stay already!
