Beautiful old house and grounds. Friendly employee. The pool was unusable/filthy when we were there which was really sad for my five year old. We stayed in the garden cabana and there’s no climate control there (the thermostat is in the next unit over) so we were very cold throughout. Good dinner and breakfast.

We stayed in Grant’s room. It was neat to think that a former General and President slept on that very bed frame. The house is full of history. The room provided the nostalgia of the past with the modern day comforts of the present. The staff was amazing especially the host, Latonya Brown. She gave a great tour of the house that was very educational. She made us want to come back due to her hospitality. When you stay be sure to stick around for dinner. The pork tenderloin and catfish were fantastic! We loved the history of Vicksburg and look forward to staying here again.

Very nice historic property.

The staff is wonderful, and I love the historic home’s character and charm. The restaurant chicken étouffée was delicious, and the room was clean.

We stayed in the pool cabana and it was lovely, private and classy. Can’t wait to come back. The pool was clean, the food was fantastic, the mixed drinks were excellent. The owner Kendra was a sweetheart and made us feel very welcome. Thank you for our stay :)

We really enjoyed our stay. The property is well kept and the staff is really friendly. We met Bendita when we went to the bar on the property and we really enjoyed her company! The literal only complaint i have is the coffee at breakfeast was terrible. But other than that 5 stars!!!

This is an historic, very old mansion. I loved the period pieces and the decor. The owners were very welcoming and the included breakfast was delicious. After the breakfast, one owner gave us a wonderful detailed, informative tour of the house. Again, this is an old mansion undergoing renovation, but if that interests you as it did my husband and me, it’s a great place to stay.

Our stay was great. Everyone we came in contact with was very nice. They put the southern hospitality back in the south.

Loved the people and food. Beautiful grounds and so unique. The only suggestion is for the cleaning crew to use less clorox in cleaning the room. It was SO strong when we checked in we had to open all the doors. Maybe a less pungent cleaner. Thank you.

Nice room and property with historical character. Vicksburg is interesting and historic although parts of town are run down and appear to be unsafe.

This is a beautiful property steeped in history! Our kids will remember this place over any chain hotel.

Fabulous bed and super sweet staff. Will definitely be back next time I need a stop in Mississippi.

The lack of mobility information in the description of the property caused a lot of problems for my wife and I. We were giving a room/apartment which was approximately 200 yards from the main house. You had to negotiate a very dark lane which was pitted with many holes and gullies. Then you had to climb 40 steps up on a very narrow stairwells, this was also very poorly lit. I’m 72 with heart disease and arthritis and I struggled to get up those stairs. However the room/apartment was very large with a lounge/kitchen area, a king bed in a separate room and a very large bathroom with shower and tub. If I had been 20 years younger I would have relished staying here. The duty manager, Anthony, was absolutely fantastic and gave a us a room in the main building, although it was only a quarter of the size of what we had paid for and with a very small bed, we were nevertheless very grateful and felt safer in this room. The other downside was the lack of staff to help us. We were just given the keys and were expected to sort ourselves out. I asked for assistance, however I was informed that all the staff were busy with the bar and restaurant. To be fair the staff were extremely busy, but that seemed to be down to the lack of staff working, to the amount of guests present. Our original room was 33, in the detached building and should only be booked by those with no mobility problems. Breakfast choice was non existent and very poor, causing us to eat out on the 2nd day.

Sad to say that this place was horrible. The place was very noisy and when I called around midnight to ask if they could quiet the other drunks guests down, I was told no. I was talked down to and treated very badly. I do NOT recommend this place. There are many cute places in town, chose ANOTHER location! Trust me!

This is a gorgeous B & B to stay in. Amy the registration gal is the best. She makes you feel like your a welcome family member. Bar is quaint and bartender Cody is fun. Breakfast is small portioned but good quiche. No choice, just brought out to you. Location is great and decor is perfect for home. Had diner there and it was ok.( Filet/shrimp) The best was the bread! Try a red dragon at the bar they will get you hooked. Also Amy gives a lovey historical tour of the place after breakfast. Would definitely stay again!!!

Excellent place to stay. Felt like i was living in the 1800s.
