very nice hotel

Felt so clean and relaxing

We really enjoyed our stay at The Westin San Diego in Gaslamp. It's centrally located to great restaurants, bars, and sites. The entire staff was super helpful and friendly. Ernie at the restaurant was great! I would stay at the Westin again anytime.

Enjoyed the walkability to the Midway, all the nearby bars and restaurants as well as Petco Park.

It was nice, the city view was amazing. I would definitely stay there again anytime.

Room was perfect for my stay. Front desk was super nice. I asked if I could store luggage until check in time and they said oh we can see if your room is available now. They were extremely friendly and helpful.

The hotel was very nice, clean and well maintained. Easy walk to Petco Park and the rest of the gas lamp.

I am pretty easy going, don’t really think I’m high maintenance when it comes to hotel rooms, but some non-negotiables are cleanliness, and I absolutely can’t stand standing water in the shower. After our first shower it was discovered, we informed the desk, while we were out someone came in to rectify it. When we got back, the bathtub was full of gross hair and sludge from whatever came up from the drain. You couldn’t clean that up? And the standing water situation didn’t get fixed. I was still standing in ankle deep dirty water while taking a shower. The rains shower head and handheld shower head would both be on at the same time, the handle was not working to turn one off, and lastly the toilet was so incredibly loud, it sounded like you were breaking the porcelain when you flushed. Also, we had an ant problem in our bathroom. We did not have any food in our room either. I would expect more from Marriott, it’s not like we’re staying at a motel 6. Other than the cleanliness issues, it’s a great walkable location.

Very close to all the main attractions.

The only thing that bothered me was the bartender. I sat at the bar, he looked at me... walked past me and served a couple. Walked past me again to put the bottles up. Walked past me again and started washing dishes. I went over to the host stand to ask, is he the bartender?

Very nice hotel and staff. The beds are very comfortable and our room was very spacious. We like the fact the a/c fan run all the time if needed for some white noise. The bathroom is spacious with almost instant hot water. The hotel has a destination fee and they give you certain perks from it. We took advantage of the free harbor tour and free drinks at the bar.

It was OKAY stay. I wouldn’t stay here again. I didn’t feel safe walking at night if I want to go out for dinner. A lot of homeless around the area. Late check out was 1130am which was only 30mins. Automatic charge fee of 25$ a day for free 1hr paddle board, ferry ride and two free drinks daily. I think we could’ve had the option of opting out. Lobby was nice. Definitely not staying here again. Ik not a downtown person if I’m on vacation. I’m a beach person and I rather stay by the beach. Mission beach area or or pacific beach or Coronado.

Hotel staff was great, very helpful and welcoming. Amenities were solid, and destination fee had some very nice perks that I would use if I had stayed a longer time

Traveled here for my 51st birthday with my daughter. We had a splendid time, and enjoyed all the amenities. Only sour spot was the attitude of one of the older female concierge’s. She could have just been a racist, or just very sour and oft-putting. Wouldn’t touch the pen when my daughter handed it back to her… that was the only thing that rubbed me wrong.

Staff were great, concierge/bellhop guy was great as we dropped our bags off early. The only knock is that there were a few police incidents in the area and it wasn’t as nice as I was expecting. Obviously that is out of the hands of the hotel and staff (who were great), we just don’t want to walk around at night. But, great pickup circle at the hotel for uber/lyft/taxi

Close by all the areas of San Diego we wished to visit. We walked home from the seeing the Padres play. Very Convenient.

Only problem was at the restaurant / bar manager seemed like acting macho asking me and my friends for our IDs when we were there the day before and are almost 40 years old!

Wow it’s a stone throw away from Balboa Theater. The check in host was friendly and accommodating the bartender at the bar was attentive. I felt safe considering the makeshift police station is next door. My room smelled and looked clean. I only stayed one night but was comfortable.

Everything was amazing!
