Very friendly, clean and cosy. All the staff were welcoming and the property was a lovely local pub with friendly locals. We only stayed 1 night on this occasion but we will definitely use this hotel again. Very reasonable rates that included breakfast and parking in a beautiful location. Thank you for a comfortable stay.

We loved this hotel, in the lovely quaint village of Llanfair, less than 10 min drive from Aberegele High St. Staff were fantastic, and we had an evening meal and breakfast, which were both delicious. The bed was super comfy. Loved the local walks highlighted in the book in the room. Only downside was that there was a bit of a smell in the room, and mould round side of bath. But it didnt put us off, would definately book again 😊.

I always enjoy my stay at The Black Lion; the rooms are comfortable and spacious, it has a good pub restaurant and is friendly and welcoming.

Very comfortable rooms and friendly, helpful staff. The food was excellent and probably the best hotel breakfast we've ever had! Beautiful setting but unfortunately for the hotel and village, the nearby farmers chose to muck spread on the hottest days of the year! This meant that sitting outside next to the river in the sunshine personally wasn't an option for us. Highly recommend and hope to be able to visit again.

WHAT A FIND!!!! A real gem After being let down with our original booking, we found the Black Lion Hotel. It's set in a small, quiet village near the river. We had a superb evening meal, the pub was busy in both the bar and restaurant area all evening, which is always a good sign.... the food was superb, service was excellent The room we stayed in was quiet, clean, the bathroom was a good size, the bed was comfy. The breakfast in the morning was superb quality made from local produce. One of the owners Rachel, sat and chatted with us after breakfast about the local area and the pub itself, which was really nice as she were preparing for a very busy Father's Day carvery afternoon and evening Its definitely a place we will return too stay and also to eat... I would recommend highly to anyone

the hotel was perfect for our short stay visiting family. the staff were very helpful, the room set out very nice and clean with all little extras of tea coffee biscuits also toiletries and reading material the breakfast was very nice and plenty of choice. thank you

Stopped off on route to Scotland, great hospitality, good food and lots of little touches in the room. Plan to stop here again :-)

The Black Swan is in a perfect spot to relax and walk about. The village is interesting and picture perfect. Location is handy for touring North Wales and Cheshire. The room was very comfortable and the pub and staff were friendly. Food delicious. Highly recommended.

We stayed for 4 nights at the Black Lion. The room was spacious and comfortable. If you wanted every day cleaning, then you would probably have to ask. For us, we found that ok. It is a very busy place and popular. The bed was comfortable. The shower is in the bath, which for me was a bit awkward, as I am in my 80s. The food was really good, breakfast and evening meals really tasty and filling. The hosts and all the staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Absolutely recommended.
