Very friendly staff and a lovely room and breakfast. Located in lovely grounds.

Original old rooms but full of character. Comfortable bed, tea and coffee. Lovely river view with outside tables and chairs. Had dinner and breakfast which were very good. Ample parking

Our room was not as big as expected from the photos and we were overlooking a flat roof with extractor fans continuously on - not so great when we had to have the windows open in the heat and could not get the ac to work. However an extremely helpful receptionist (Jay) gave us a different room a little bit further away which was a little bit bigger and slightly less noisy (thanks Jay 🙂). Lovely hotel in a beautiful setting by the river. Evening meal was nice, but I was still hungry as the portion of crushed potato with the bream was miniscule. Breakfast was good apart from the raw mushrooms (shame, as they were lovely big mushrooms and would have been delicious had they actually been cooked). The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Overall, we were happy with our stay and would return again.

Everything was great apart from the room being cold and having no heating. Just a small oil radiator which didn’t really do much. Apart from that it was fantastic

Location is beautiful. We stayed in a twin room (son and mother) in one of the cottages. The entrance to the cottages are going through some redecoration. A basic comfortable room, clean. The electrics died in the room in the morning, but a quick call to reception sorted it all out. Breakfast was lovely and fresh. Cooked to order. Pastries, cereals, toasts available too. Coffee from an urn, which was fine, could have been hotter. But good value overall. We dined in the restaurant in the evening, lovely food. There was a shockingly rude couple in the restaurant which made us feel very uncomfortable so we ate as quickly as possible and left, but enjoyed the views and beautiful sunset outside. They clearly hadn't read the menu before hand and were expecting a Brewers Fayre menu! We would definitely stay again, as was convenient and comfortable for us.

Food and staff both excellent! Room very tired, mattresses on bed appalling- please change them- had an awful nights sleep!

Stay was ok, food was good but the variation in standard of rooms is significant.

We stayed for 1 night on our way to a MSV trackday at Donnington Park. Our room was on the first floor overlooking the River Trent. The location was great. Parking was fine and overall a pleasant stay. We chose to eat in the restaurant - unfortunately too few staff meant service was not great. The Sunday roast was ok but also not great.

The staff were very helpful. The room needed some much needed TLC. Marks and stains all on walls. Hot tap in bathroom bath didn’t work. No complementary water in rooms, bar closed in morning so unable to get any refreshments. Thin duvet on bed and rock hard pillows but the location sold our stay there.

Out of the way riverside hotel with some rooms separate from the main building. We were in one of the separate rooms which had parking outside. Twin beds with a narrow bathroom with shower. One of the beds was very noisy - springs creaking at slightest movement and the floorboards above were extremely noisy so we heard every movement in the room above. Bar and food offering was good but they had run out of steak and burgers on Sunday night - the Sunday roast was a good alternative with a choice of meats. Would stay again as close to Donington Park but you need transport to get to it.

Beautiful setting with really friendly staff

Excellent location, beautiful property, great menu in the restaurant with lovely staff. Enjoyed having a bathtub in the bathroom. Will definitely stay again.

Hotel was situated next to the river and although very close to the airport it was quiet and very scenic. The rooms were a little dated although our shower pressure was amazing. Evening meal was a bit hit and miss. I wasn’t impressed with the price or quantity of mine but others said their meal was nice. The breakfast however was amazing and the gentleman running it was extremely organised and accommodating to our needs. Definitely worth the money.
