Everything was great, except - no usb point, which is in every hotels these days

I recently stayed at Protea Klerksdorp with my kids, and sadly, our experience was far from satisfactory. While the hotel grounds were well-maintained and visually appealing, the issues with cleanliness and service overshadowed this positive aspect. Our room was not cleaned thoroughly—makeup brushes from previous guests were still on the floor. This made me question the overall hygiene of the space. Our biggest challenge was the noise. Other guests held a loud party directly in front of our room until 2:30 AM, and despite the disturbance, there was no staff intervention to address it. It made for a sleepless and stressful night, especially with kids. The restaurant experience was equally frustrating. We ordered a Hawaiian pizza for the kids, but what arrived was chicken with chili sauce. When I questioned the staff, they claimed they had added pineapple to the dish to make it "Hawaiian." Such a response was not only unhelpful but also dismissive of the mistake. The food quality overall was subpar and disappointing. While the well-kept grounds showed potential, the lack of proper housekeeping, disregard for guest comfort, and unacceptable dining experience make it impossible for me to recommend this hotel to families or anyone seeking a relaxing stay.

Just after midnight we had drunk and unruly neighbours that came and started to be very noisy. They were very loud to a point I called reception to ask them to assist. Reception called them to tone down but instead it became worse. That went until 03:00am when we called reception to ask them if they are not capable applying the hotel policy. We asked if we should take matters into our and that is when they decided to move them to the second floor. What surprised me is that they negotiated with them instead of saying please lower voices because other guest are sleeping. One of the drunk neighbours told the hotel official that he won’t lower his voice and they allow this behaviour to continue for another two hours. The hotel staff on duty does not monitor guest behaviour instead we had to call them again to have them moved. I will never book Marriott in Klerksdorp ever again. I will rather use small bed and breakfast in Klerksdorp / Stilfontein. Preferably Potch road lodge. That is not the Marriott hotels I am used too. Clearly they just borrowed the name.

The first room we were allocated reeked of sewerage so we asked to be moved. The floor of the room was so dirty that I could not walk barefoot. The staff on the other hand were marvelous - friendly and enthusiastic.

We enjoyed our stay very much. I just feel that the restaurant prices was a bit expensive compare to other restaurants serving the same.

When I first arrived and right up until I left the lady at reception wouldn’t believe that I had paid. When I explained that I had already paid and showed her evidence of the fact, she would still not believe. Almost treating me like a common thief. Shower was terrible, the door let out a torrent of water, soaking the floor. It was one of those showers that were either boiling hot or ice cold, with no Medium. At 07:00 in the morning, other guests decided to break into song and laughter, with no care for other sleepers. Overall a terrible nights sleep, incredibly disappointing for a Marriott Hotel.

Really friendly and helpful staff at the front desk and at the restaurant. Did everything and anything to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Would definitely stay there again if passing through the Klerksdorp area.

Excellent and Great Place to be, will be there next Year again

Staff very courteous and friendly and room clean and comfortable with aircondlting and selection of satellite TV channels available. Hotel has strong free WiFi throughout and swimming pool in outside garden. Perfect for short term overnight stay. Will definitely be back.
