Would liked to have the pool and parking including in the stay and not pay extra which most hotels do include

This was honestly one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. I genuinely cannot believe this place is meant to be a 4-star hotel. From the outside, it looks quite decent, and having a pool, gym and Starbucks on site gives the impression that it’s going to be a good stay. Unfortunately, that couldn’t have been further from the truth. As soon as we got to the room, it was obvious we’d massively overpaid. The room was unbearably hot, and the window had clearly been left open because there was no air conditioning at all. Instead, there was a tiny fan that was completely useless and just seemed to push hot air around. I complained to the duty manager, who brought a stronger fan, but it barely helped. To make matters worse, there wasn’t even any complimentary tea or coffee in the room, which is the bare minimum you’d expect. We then tried to complain, but got stuck in a ridiculous back and forth between the hotel and Hotels.com, each telling us to take it up with the other. After more than an hour of this, and feeling completely frustrated and let down, we ended up cancelling the booking and getting a refund. I would never stay at a Village Hotel again after this. Really disappointing experience, and nowhere near the standard it claims to be.

The breakfast was very basic and cost an additional £49 for 2 adults and 2 children. We ordered a bottle of wine chilled in a fridge with two glasses for a special occasion, this cost £18. However there was no fridge in the room or bottle. We had to grab one from the bar which was priced at £14. No idea what the extra £4 was for. The rooms have no aircon and become very hot. Wouldn’t stay here again.

Staff were great. Room was lovely. Wasn’t the cleanest room I’ve stayed in but was ok.

Lovely hotel, only downside was no air con, but luckily we were given a fan in our room, which helped as weather was hot!

Good facilities, swimming pool, gym, bar. Food was poor, beer selection could be better.

Stayed in room 159 stains on carpet, dust everywhere, windows didn’t open to allow air in. No ac was 30 degrees, TV didn’t work, room service food wasn’t nice and glass panel in shower was loose and moving meaning if it fell and your on the toilet it will land on you and to top it off for a 300 and something weekend away you would’ve thought the parking would be free but no.

Room was ok just the stench coming from the shower plug Breakfast staff rude unhelpful and clear away items from the table before I could eat Ordered pizza and chips pizza came then chips one hour later

Unfortunately we had some issues in the restaurant. There was an error and some items were missed from our order. It was eventually resolved but staff were unhelpful and didn’t even offer an apology. The lady on reception was exceptional though. She went out of her way helping us find our way to an event and arranging a late check out so my daughter could swim.

The hotel has big car park , cheap parking rate and gym and hotel rooms are worth the use if on a long trip away.

Arrived to a very warm welcome by the reception staff, explained about the use of the fitness facilities and the restaurant. Food was good, highly recommend the pork tomahawk. Room excellent with all the facilities that I needed.

The room was a good size and the parking was free all weekend. However the pool area was so busy we didn't use it, the bar and restaurant was very expensive.

The lady that checked us in was such a lovely lady (i think her name was Donna) so friendly, absolute pleasure to meet her. Bed was really comfy and breakfast was good. Management, you need to look after staff like her, she is a real asset.

Nice hotel and did what it needed to do.
