The room was ok. Clean. Chair was broken. Bed high of ground hard to just sit on it. Pop machine broken. Breakfast -milk dispenser broken, not a lot of options. We were on ground floor we like having door to outside. Over all for cost not bad.

An adequate independent 3 star hotel. The room and decor is dated but well maintained. Breakfast is pretty basic, with cereal, toast, yogurt and coffee (no fresh eggs, bacon or sausage, waffle maker etc). If you care about breakfast you might want to head to the Tim Horton's or Wendy's next door. The hotel is about 25 minutes from the Halifax waterfront.

The property is well maintained, the rooms are large and spacious and very clean. Very quiet and the bed was very very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and a huge shout out to Amy at the front door dispel the morning of the wedding we attended as there was a glitch in an accommodations elsewhere for my sister and her partner. There was one room available at Coastal Inn at short notice and available immediately so my family could get ready for the wedding. Amy was so understanding and accosting as held the room until my sister could see if she could fix up their other accommodations. I was very impressed with all the staff and the proximity of many amenities in Bayers Park. We were also 15 min away from the wedding venue in beautiful Prospect. Would definitely go back here again in future for future events, concerts etc .. lots of free parking as well. Also the breakfast included was substantial. Have stayed down town in the past and parking is such an issue and VERY expensive. And no breakfast included in many hotels. A 15-20 min drive from downtown Halifax. Would highly recommend this locale in future to anyone travelling from away or even if a few hours away and just need an overnighter. 😊

Elevator was broken and we were on the 3rd floor with a 9 month old baby. Went down for breakfast at 9:40am to be told they were closed. Others were still eating and I wanted to get toast for my baby. Tv was terrible. Bed was comfy tho.

Very modern, newer decor hotel with nice, clean amenities. Location was perfect once leaving Peggy's Cove without going into busy Halifax. Just a minute down the road from shopping and great restaurants without getting lost for directions. Great breakfast too.

Very nice room, staff was nice, only issue was the tvs weren’t working properly. Was only a short stay so wasn’t a huge deal but was an inconvenience.

The facility is of an older design but has been updated with beautiful rooms and a good size pool to make it very comfortable. The staff was very helpful. Definately a nice stay for a great price. Extremely convenient to the highway.

Checking in was bad, they didn't have our reservation. We were given an "upgraded" room which was a horrible. It was on the 3rd floor, and they later told me (at check out) that the 3rd floor hadn't been renovated yet. The room we got was dirty (we found 2 used balloons on the floor), I am not sure it had been cleaned at all. We found 2 kids toys left behind from the last guest. The pull-out couch was horrible to sleep on (we had booked a 2 queen room, and got a king + pull-out couch). I know most pull-outs are not great, but this was the worst ever. The mattress fell below the metal frame, so when you sat on it you sunk into the metal. The mattress was about 8-9cm thick and not at all comfortable. There was a curtain between the rooms but it wasn't fully attached any more; about half hooks were broken and hanging down.

Low budget breakfast. The rest was great.

Pro: Clean room. Easy parking. We left our car there and Uber ourselves to downtown/waterfront to visit the city on foot. Away from downtown noises (we get some highway noise instead, but not too loud) Con: Pool was way too cold, unusable. Breakfast did not offer enough for us, so we drove to the nearby Pur & Simple. A single (and slow) elevator for a 3 story building.
