I normally refrain from negative comments but ... Parking is a nightmare experience - front car park was with difficult to find and then full ... After spending almost another hour parking at backdoor car park with proper payment of parking fees, you then receive a 100 pound parking ticket erroneously in the middle of night one week later !!

Environment is excellent. But the breakfast is quite expensive but the restaurant is good and the quality is good.

Staff was amazing, property had a lovely garden and a great restaurant and bar. And the location can't be beat!

Potentially the best hotel we have ever stayed in, incredibly comfortable beds, very clean and well maintained rooms. Very relaxing surroundings and garden. The breakfast was delicious with an amazing choice. Parking available and in a perfect location to explore Winchester.

Lovely friendly elegant hotel. Spacious clean room. Great amenities and let us store our bikes securely within the hotel close to reception. Reception staff could not have been friendlier or more professional. Great breakfast. Perfect central location.

Immediately told we would have to pay £15 for overnight parking in their car park (nobody mentioned there was free parking in their road outside). Then told breakfast would cost £15, even if you only had a bowl of cereal. Room was like an oven, and couldn’t open windows properly, let alone any air conditioning. Very poor value for money.

Great hotel but no air conditioning in rooms

Hotellet är ett klassiskt gammalt engelskt hotell, rummen är rumliga men saknar tyvärr luftkonditionering vilket var ett problem då det var 31 grader i Winchester. Trevlig trädgård och centralt i Winchester.

I have read some negative reviews but am really glad I chose this hotel. I went solo as I badly needed a break from work and was at my ease the whole time. Staff were friendly and respectful. Beautiful garden to relax in, and food served well into the evening. The hotel is near the train station and the town centre. I would recommend it in all aspects.
