Hotel and rooms where clean and comfortable

I made a mistake booking this hotel for my family, including young children, on our trip to Edmonton. The hotel's cleanliness was poor, and the soundproofing of the front door was terrible. We were just having a normal conversation in our room, yet we received a complaint from the hotel reception. Then, they sent two professional security guards to knock on my door and spoke unfriendly right in front of my children. The next day, when I met with the hotel manager to ask for an explanation, she just brushed it off. She also claimed that the complaint was due to us having the TV on high volume, when in reality, my family was only watching a movie at 12/100. She insisted that the noise was caused by the TV being too loud, refusing to acknowledge that her hotel, with its old and poorly soundproof doors, was inadequate for soundproofing between the room and the hallway. I am extremely disappointed with their behavior and handling of the situation, especially since I stayed at their hotel for six nights. I will never return.

Kids enjoyed pool and breakfast

Don’t recommend staying here, find a better hotel if you can. The check-in process was seamless and the room looked clean at first glance. After a lovely trip to the swimming pool, we found MOUSE POOP IN THE BED… The front desk staff was equally as appalled and offered to move us to a suite where we found dirty bandaids on the floor. I’m not exaggerating even in the slightest. We decided to get a room at a different hotel and asked for a refund. We were told the manager would call to discuss the problem, the manager never called but we did receive the refund. We have little kids and want to know we’re letting them sleep in a place that is at the very least, clean. Overall a disappointing experience and will be the last time we stay at a Super 8.

This is a great hotel with a breakfast..just what you need when travelling.

The slide was awesome for my kid, just keep in mind a small pool. The staff helped out when needed. I would say it was a wonderful stay for families.

This property is definitely showing its age now. The carpets, comforters and overall appearance is very dated and unappealing. The pool is great for families with kids, waterslide and hot tub all up and functioning at our time of stay. The breakfast was neat and well monitored but the staff the only concern is we were there 4 mornings and the options never changed for what the hot foods were. We found the breakfast very mediocre. The staff were very nice, friendly and helpful, no complaints with the customer service from check in to housekeeping, even the on site security guards were friendly and chatty. The price was very fair but definitely reflected what you were paying for. This would be an ideal stay for families and if you didn't plan to spend a lot of time in the rooms.

DO NOT STAY HERE. THERE ARE BED BUGS. We discovered bed bugs here on the morning of check out in one of the 4 rooms we rented. We had 11 kids spending time in that room, including hours on the bed as we were travelling in a group. Staff acknowledged that it was bed bugs, and the let it slip that it’s been an ongoing problem. The hotel chain and manager have since denied the existence of the bed bugs, despite the staff coming to look for themselves, the pictures and video evidence, and bite marks on the adults and kids. This place needs to be shut down by public health, it’s an active infestation.

Our group booked multiple rooms at this hotel, and unfortunately one of the rooms (occupied by our friend) was found to have bed bugs. Because we were travelling together, our children spent many hours in that room over the course of our three-day stay before the problem was discovered. This created a very stressful situation, as we had to inspect and treat all of our belongings after returning home out of concern that the bed bugs may have spread. While our own room did not show obvious signs of bed bugs, the exposure risk to our family was significant simply because we spent so much time together in the affected room. We hope the hotel takes this issue seriously and implements thorough inspection and treatment procedures to prevent other guests from experiencing the same situation.
