Breakfast first class

The staff were very well trained, being attentive and request were dealt with in a timely manner. We singled out Noah for his help during breakfast, a charming and attentive young man. Small problem with the shower, however the room was fine. No A/C but not expected in a building of this age.

Super helpful staff at check in who helped sort a problem that I created ! But they were kind and nothing g was too much trouble to sort. Same with staff in bar and restaurant. Comfy room and great breakfast. Would definitely stay again.

Hotel was very good

Luxurious country house hotel with amazing dining. Great location near North York Moors. The team were really helpful as we had an early start on Sunday morning and they did everything they could to help us with that.

We were gifted a voucher as a maternity present and chose to spend it on a hotel. We decided on Gisborough Hall because of its promise of a luxury experience. The initial room did not feel luxurious and was more reminiscent of a standard chain hotel room than a premium country house hotel. Our view overlooked an active construction site with workers, building materials, and construction equipment. Upon request we were upgraded to a room with a forest view, which was appreciated. However, it left us wondering why guests who had already booked and paid were not allocated the better rooms in the first place. Were we treated differently because part of our stay had been paid for using a gifted voucher? Another major disappointment was the "king-size" beds, which are actually two separate mattresses pushed together. One of the reasons we chose Gisborough Hall was for the comfort and space a true king-size bed should provide as a family. This felt misleading. The Chaloner dinner service staff were attentive and professional throughout. The food itself was underwhelming. The duck was overcooked, lacking the flavour and quality expected, while the beef shin resembled a fillet rather than the slow-cooked, fall-apart texture one would associate with the dish. We also overheard diners at a neighbouring table making similar comments about their meal, suggesting our experience was not an isolated one. We left feeling that we had paid premium prices for a distinctly average experience.

Fab room and food etc. - just a shame we were woken up by workmen doing stuff with power tools at 8.30am on Sunday morning which took half an hour to be closed off and shut down. No doubt a one off and staff were very apologetics. Lovely hotel.

Spa rebuild and builders nuisance but tolerable.

Breakfast was nice however they ran out of pastries on one occasion. Parking was easy and close to the hotel. Room was clean and roomy. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The stay was fabulous. The only disappointment--I had stated prior to our visit that it was to celebrate my wife's birthday. A little something in the room would have just added a special touch- as your telephone Advisor said you would probably do. Kind regards Dr Jason Greenwood

Loved the two lounges nice restaurants but the clientele were more the retirement type and the background music was too old and annoying for younger people and I'm 63 .

The hotel and grounds are absolutely lovely. Our room was spacious and well equipped. Plenty of parking in the lovely grounds and the food in both the bistro and the restaurant was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Long weekend was fabulous

Great Location, Great food and accommodation. Plenty to do and see in the area. A pleasant walk across fields to Guisborough Town with it's shops pubs etc.
