A very nice hotel. The staff are all kind and helpful. Breakfast is fantastic but the selection of lunch and dinner is limited. Generally very good!

A lovely historically old hotel which is beautifully decorated. The staff are excellent. I'll definitely stay here if working in the area.

The staff and food could not have been better but our Classic double room left a lot to be desired!! The bathroom was very poor and the extractor sounded like a tractor, therefore you couldn't put the light on in the bathroom during the night if you needed the toilet ( had to use the torch on our phones). Also as the toilet was under the eaves and my husband is six foot tall, he found using it awkward!! The towels were lovely n clean but the shower cubicle was not. We would go back but not in a classic double room.

We returned to Ye Olde Bell to celebrate our Silver Wedding Anniversary having held our wedding reception there 25 years ago. It did not disappoint! Whilst it has been updated it still feels comfortable and retains the character it always had. From the moment we arrived the staff were brilliant; friendly and helpful, they went above and beyond to cater to my special dietary requirements, providing soya milk for the room, as well as offering to amend dishes for our evening meal. Our room was spacious and tastefully decorated and the ensuite was large and well supplied with toiletries etc. The room was also quiet, despite facing a road. Our evening meal was lovely, as was breakfast. The breakfast was freshly cooked to order. We enjoyed our stay and trip down Memory Lane immensely and can recommend Ye Olde Bell.

Excellent place to stay, nice bar, great food and excellent room. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again and the staff were really excellent. The place was so good that I still give it 5 stars even though the breakfast experience was less than expected. Breakfast menu is fantastic - nothing much I can think of that wasn't on the menu. The experience was a little bit spoiled by staff forgetting to bring mustard to the table so my meal was almost cold by the time it arrived. Also the toast took forever as had to remind them and then it was 3 half slices between two people. There is no doubt they would have brought more toast though I'm sure. Only mention these things to help the staff / management with feedback as this places seems really well run and I think they would value the feedback - with those things fixed it would have made the whole experience perfect rather than excellent :-)

Helpful & courteous staff made a big impression. Excellent Supper even on is Sunday night-Grimsby Haddock superb! No music -relaxing and peaceful dining room . Outstanding breakfast -great choice & fresh cooked -lovely hostess made the experience one to repeat ! Car parking is plentiful and very convenient straight outside our room ( actually perfect if one had any mobility issues or required safe parking for valuable stock in a van ).

Absolutely stunning venue. Great place and facilities in a period setting. I struggled to sleep for two reasons, the rooms were so warm and when I opened the window to cool down, the road noise was terrible. Could do with air con or climatic control but I appreciate this may be a challenge for a building that is likely listed.

The reason why I rated eco-friendliness only 3 is that I could not switch off the heating. I had to open the window with the heating on to have a comfortable sleeping temperature.

Service, food & staff were amazing, we had a housekeeping issue with our room which was dealt with immediately & professionally, we were staying two nights attending a large Birthday party lunch. If you want a relaxing home from home hotel, go for it!!

Hyggelig eldre hotell, med svært hyggelig betjening. Dusj kunne vært bedre, og det var noen edderkoppnett i vinduene. Men maten var god, bare beregn god tid til frokost for alt må bestilles og det tar litt tid.

Staff very friendly and helpful. I forgot my phone charger and they charged my phone over breakfast
