We were so looking forward to this splurge hotel for the last two nights of our trip. On the positive side: nice garden out back, the breakfast was plentiful, the bathroom was updated, and there is on-site parking. However, the overall condition of the property is not what is expected for the price. The decor is outdated and even garish in some respects. Hot pink and purple theme in guest room and lobby (hot pink diamond patterned carpet). The bed in our room was lumpy (had to be at least 20 years old). There is no A/C--even Scotland can get warm and humid--especially on the upper floors. Overall, this property is not worth what is being charged (>350 pounds/night).

Beautiful and relaxing location

The most charming hidden gem we were blessed to encounter. Everything we needed was there so there was no reason to leave, all the while being surrounded by a peaceful atmosphere. The layout of the cabin was perfect, clean, not cluttered at all. Loved it. The “fine dining” experience was nice for presentation purpose, but was way over priced and left us still hungry. Thankfully the 24 hour bar had a great menu that was much more to offer.

Everything Food Service Clean

An absolute gem just outside of St. Andrews. Only stayed for one night, but what a lovey stay. The gardens are beautiful, I loved walking through them after dinner. The room was well appointed and had homemade short bread. Plus it was so nice and quiet.

Beautiful boutique area

This is such a beautiful Estate with history and incredible charm! The staff was wonderful and we thoroughly enjoyed dining in and had fun with the staff in the bar. Everything about our stay was fabulous and we felt very well taken care of. We would highly recommend and stay again!

A great place to stay. Check in was delightful, room was warm and cozy, hot shower and comfy bed. We ate dinner in the main restaurant, the food was outstanding. Great flavours and presentation. Whisky, scrabble and a roaring fire in the bar afterwards. Breakfast was good and a quick visit to the hens before departing.

Friendly staff

A great hotel in really nice countryside surroundings yet only a 5 minute drive from St Andrews. The room was very comfortable and well heated which is important for a December stay.
