*I wrote two reviews because we had a split stay in the same room: 1 night and 3 nights
The property sits next to a shopping center and a bus stop, convenient for traveling around Dublin and getting food, medicine, toiletries.
The staff are both friendly and helpful—5 stars for them!
The property itself needs work; for one, they need new windows. The ones they have push out at the bottom about 4 inches, which isn't helpful for air circulation. We were there during the heatwave and it was brutal. Hot air sat, stagnant and heavy, in our room the entire 4 nights we were there. The hotel supplied a small fan, but it wasn't able to pull in cooler air from outside due to the air flow constriction.
We barely slept those 4 nights and my daughter got a terrible heat rash on her feet, hands, and legs (it cleared up within 24 hours when we stayed with our friends down in SW Ireland).
I think with some adjustments to their windows and more investment in window fans, Clayton will improve their ratings considerably.
