Had 2 rooms booked for my daughter’s birthday this weekend. Arrived after 3 pm on Saturday and was told the rooms weren’t ready despite the check in time being 3. Hotel was an absolute mess, food everywhere, smashed glass outside where the kids were running around and general untidy mess. Yes there was a big group in but there should have been extra staff to accommodate. Finally got to check in at around 4:15. Room was decent size so no complaints there. Headed down for dinner at around 6 to be told that the restaurant is only open for breakfast so we would have to sit in the bar. Food was poor, ordered for the street food selection and was all just Itsu packet food heated up. Only item they had from the kids menu of 6 selections was fish fingers. This was at 6 on a Saturday night so god knows what happened for the rest of the night although the lack of people in the restaraunt probably should have been an indication. Only saving grace were the staff who were serving on the bar who were all really friendly and apologetic. Definitely won’t be coming back.

You expect an element of homogenised uniformity when it comes to chain hotels, no matter which chain they are and this was no different. Being part of the Marriott group, I was hoping for a more unique feel to the place which hopes were laid to rest once I had entered the room. Everything was there as expected but it felt a little sterile like the bare minimum was yielded as far as effort went. Parking was ample and the staff were courteous and friendly. There were dining options on site and plenty of other ones nearby. I visited the gym which was adequate for my workout needs but not quite the Village brand of gyms. Was not bowled over by the cooked breakfast offering as the ingredients looked quite forlorn. Overall, when comparing to most hotels, this ones comes out quite favourably but with the Marriott branding I'm afraid I expected a lot more.

Really nice, clean hotel. Lovely lounge area and bar. Rooms simple, just just right for our stay.

Calm and nice reception and decoration

They claim to have Netflix at this property it’s not true they do not ! I have complained about this as it’s quite important to have some entertainment as the hotel is fairly remote . Breakfast is very good staff are great . Towels a bit rough . Internet is unacceptably poor. They do not have the usual Marriott digital channels for the price not good in this respect but I do like the hotel and its staff it’s just ….. boring

We really enjoyed our stay. All very friendly staff. It would have been even better if the restaurant was a bit warmer. The TV in our room was a Smart Samsung but with no features of a smart TV. Only very limited tv stations and no TV guide and the screen mirroring did not work

Staff brilliant bedroom very nice and clean food great the only downside was the downstairs bar area was very cold no radiators on kept our coats on otherwise very nice

Average at best and smelt damp. Room had a kettle but no tea cups, tea bags, coffee , milk or sugar! Breakfast was cold but loved the coffee.

A late arrival and early departure left no time to see much of the property. What i did see wa clean and tidy. The staff were friendly and efficient

I paid £385 for two night stay in a twin room on the second floor. Sadly it was the worst 2 nights sleep I have ever experienced. The sprung mattress was of poor quality and I could feel every spring in the mattress. I experienced back ache and every turn I made during the night was excruciating. The mattress sat on a plywood base and although the hotel offered a mattress topper this made no difference whatsoever. The hotel is apparently undergoing a refurbishment but this was not on the website when I booked. Sadly I would not stay here again, the discomfort should be reflected in the price as my stay was not worth £385 and my back continues to ache due to the poor quality of the mattress. Breakfast was £10 per person, which was value for money as there was a variety of hot food, cereal, pastries and drinks.

I didnt like that breakfast is not included..i was slso told there was no 24 hour room service and there was.

It was a lovely experience the staff were exceptional and very accommodating, I would highly recommend this hotel

Hotel is currently being refurbished, my friends and I was given one of the new rooms, ample of room in the junior suite, spent 3 nights here due to a festival, friendly staff, good buffet breakfast, wouldn’t hesitate to visit again

There was only one down side why does the disable toilet not have a mirror inside. Everything else was on point food, rooms.

Uncomfortable bed noisy every time you moved, no sockets next to the bed only old style plugs for lamps, step into bathroom that stubbed toe on numerous times & the shower curtain smelt so bad. Woken up by staff chucking bottles in bin outside then work being done on hotel so noisy drills and electric saws going from 8am. Very dated room and was unbearably hot. Rang hotel weeks prior they said we would be able to do early check in on arrival to then not be able to have our room early.

It was very friendly, would definateky stay here again
