No mention of construction that was right up against my window before I booked. Unacceptable- I was woken at 6 am the day I had a job interview which I had travelled from Quebec for! Excessive noise from fridge compressor prevented me from falling asleep- decided to shut the fridge off so I could sleep. Naturally, my food items were not cold in the morning.
I was leaving after the first night due to these circumstances, and told they wouldn’t refund me for the second night. Terrible customer service. I politely explained to front desk. They said management would contact me- they did not. I contacted Expedia , they contacted the hotel, and still, no response. Was also told it would take 24 hours- after that time I still had not heard any response.
Appalling service. I understand that I booked ahead and prepaid through Expedia- this should not be a factor in providing a refund for the 2nd night that I wasn’t there for. Exceptions should have been made. A bit of understanding and empathy for my situation wouldn’t have hurt. I travelled 7 hours by train to Oakville expecting a good night’s rest before a stressful day interviewing for work. The $100. may not mean anything to Residence & Conference Inn, but when you are a person without major funds, it means a lot.
It would be nice if the hotel did the right thing- until they do, I will continue to NOT recommend their establishment.
Also;no lamps. Who reads at night with only overhead light??Showerhead-low pressure
