The location was excellent 10/10 The room could have been cleaner. The floor to the left side of one of the beds was sticky (maybe pop) . We also found a bottle of lotion in one of th beds.(Also dirt which seemed like it came from shoes).Which made us believe that the bed sheets weren't changed. We discovered it at 11pm and when we went down to talk to the front desk no one was there. Luckily my sister found the linen closet (so we grabbed our own sheets and made the bed) not cool over all since we paid $300 for the room. We told the front desk at check out and she apologized but didn't ask us more questions to learn more about what happened. We will take our money elsewhere if we return to Stratford.

Very old antique feel. But clean rooms and very quiet in spite of the old architecture. Friendly staff. Great location for festival goers and within walking distance of local shops and restaurants. Not much in the way of amenities but has a lot of charm.

Parking spots are limited (and cost $20/day), but a short 6-7 minute walk away is the civic Cooper Lot which is free. The Avon Theatre is only two minutes away, and the Festival Theatre is perhaps 15-20 minutes away. Nicely located.

This is a clean property kept with pride. This is also an old building with old building charms. Maintenance must work hard to keep this hotel running well. I would suggest to the hotel to offer a parking shuttle when people need to park offsite.

This is an old property that is fairly well maintained. Staff are great, but there's only so much that can be done without a total reno on this place.

Staff was helpful and very pleasant. Be sure to book parking well in advance. As so often in beautiful small towns, parking is at a premium - not a lot of overnight spaces anywhere.

Super efficient check-in (after doing the online check-in), very kind and courteous staff, great location, rooms was clean and comfortable. Not a super large selection of items for breakfast but what was served was quality (sourdough bread, gluten free options etc). Will definitely go back

Staff very helpful. Bathroom was tiny. Walking shower was, nice and large but you couldn't get 2 people in the bathroom without one of you standing in the shower. Fan did not work. Room was comfy but I think still under some refurbishment. No decorations on the walls but mini fridge and one side chair. Great location

Centrally located. Skimpy breakfast. Only choices for lunch were paninis and a hamburger. After first night, housekeeping did not make up the room. No fresh towels and dirty coffee cups and glasses left. After I complained, towels, cups etc., fixed, but the bedcover was only tidied The bed underneath wasn’t made. More complaining. The second night, everything done properly.

It was exquisitely redone to be completely clean and sharp, but still had older (but cared-for!) floors that retained the charm of the age of the building. We arrived on the night the restaurant opened, May 2026, and it looked elegant and delicious (though we already had dinner plans elsewhere, unfortunately). The beds were comfortable, the room was bright and fresh but darkened well, and everything so clean! Our coffee maker didn't work, but we let the staff know and they replaced it. The reading nook and book library area near the stairs was beautiful!!

The room was small, but it was big enough for 2 men. The bed was very comfortable and at the room at the right temperature. Room 214 didn't have the best view, it was pointed towards the parking lot. We found the room to be very clean & very good self made espresso. We were close to the Avon theatre and we were very close to many restaurants. The staff at the hotel are very friendly. We paid $18 for breakfast and it was very good. NOW FOR THE BAD! The bathroom is very small! Not much room between the toilet bowl and the sink. Parking... There are only 9 SPACES for onsite parking! If you want to park on the property, you'll need to book it well in advance. The city of Stratford in the downtown core doesn't all OVERNIGHT PARKING! There is a parking lot, not in the downtown core, but it was a 20-30 minute walk back to the hotel. When we spoke to the very friendly concierge, we told him we didn't want to walk back to the hotel. This was after a show and we were hungry afterwards, ANOTHER THING, everything closed early & even Tim Horton's that was listed as 24 hours on their website were closed by 11. We noticed a sign for free parking on Sundays. When we told the concierge that we didn't want to walk back, we decided that we were just going to park across the street. The free parking on Sunday starts at 8 a.m. NOT 12 a.m. What he suggested was to move our car before 8 a.m. before they checked the parking lots, success & no ticket. This is a good hotel, it has flaws & charms.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Continental breakfast was fine with a variety of bread and pastry. Overall, the hotel is clean and has an old-time classic feel to it. The room was occasionally noisy as you can hear footsteps from the adjoining room. The room door was very tight to the frame and made a loud cracking noise each time it was opened. The room was very clean and air conditioned, although the bathroom was very cramped.

We were so disappointed with booking this hotel that we actually decided to leave without even staying there, even though we lost the deposit on the room. The main issue was parking. In the promotion it claims to have free parking, but upon arrival we found it was 5 blocks away. Major issue when you have mobility limitations. Plus, the staff could care less about our concern over this. In addition, the hotel was rundown and the room smelled musty.

The renewed Windsor Hotel is a gem in the heart of Stratford. Walking distance to the Avon, to restaurants and shops, yummy continental breakfast included in the room. The room itself was a night and day experience from the last time i was here in 2018. An excellent rebirth of a longstanding hotel in the city.

Location was great you could walk to restaurants and even the Festival theater. The hotel was old, but I’ll refurbished. It was quiet and we had a very pleasant day.

The hotel reeka of tradition and old time comforts. But the bed was modern superfoam. Many like this, I detest timing a mattress. I didn't ask, maybe there's a choice of mattress types... I doubt it Other than that, aside from the small nature of everything, and tight turns and corners...it's a very good hotel..
