I was here for my birthday celebration. It was not the experience I was expected. We get a complaint letter from the hotel because I was calling my family on the balcony at 10:00 pm with regular voice. The other guest yelled to me and the hotel got their complaints and wrote me a long letter against me. They didn’t even ask about what’s going on. I felt uncomfortable. Also, there is no AC. The room is about 90 degree hot at night. We could not sleep. Last night we saw a huge black thing in our bathroom, it looks like bat. There’s also huge spider. We called the front desk and the manger complained we are calling too late and no body took care of it. Again, did not expect all these coming. I wish there’s AC, better pest control, and over all, more respect. PS the location is far from everywhere.

It is a have to stay hotel on the island. It is the best best styles hotel I’ve ever seen. Nice staff, good nature environment, can’t get better l.

The grounds are beautiful. It was a unique and memorable experience seeing horses roam freely on the property’s expansive lawn area. The staff are very friendly and helpful

Loved the supplied breakfast foods. Outdoor shower was a unique experience. Very spacious, quiet. Enjoyed the sounds of nature at night with the open windows and screens. Pool was beautiful.

No soap, fresh breakfast not as advertised. Had massage scheduled, never heard back. Pool was nice, not open 24 hours.

Nice that they give you some food items in the room for a breakfast. Really rustic and peaceful with wild horses seconds away from your room.

This hotel was one of our favorite things about a 10-day trip to PR. We we loved the quiet retreat, including being able to stargaze and hear the birds. The open-air style of the room was fantastic -- we stayed dry during rain and saw very few bugs. Carmen and her team are friendly and helpful. The pool is also beautiful! It was well worth the stay a few minutes outside of either town.

What a gem of a place. Our open air beautiful room was nothing short of paradise. I wasnt all that concerned about 'seeing the ocean' from our room especially due to the amazing staff, relaxing energy that just eminates from the property, the pool...as I write this I wish I was back there! There is no wifi - the yoga and massage are life changing. Just go - dont ask questions (:

Breakfast items and coffee provided. Same items daily. Our room was very clean and no issues with bugs. Very cool place - private and quiet. Loved it! Would stay there again! Grounds could use some upkeep and help from a gardener but the experience was very good!

Beautiful space!

The best place I’ve ever stayed. Actually got to meet the architect John Hix and his wife. We are so blessed to be able to stay at his place and enjoy his vision of Hix Island House.

Location, unique aesthetic and architecture, zen environment, cleanliness and staff

Everything was amazing! They accommodated me with an after-hours entry; there was food left in the fridge (eggs, bread, jams/butter, milk) and fruit available in reception; and I had the chance to experience 2 different rooms in 2 different buildings (triangle and round) with their unusual layouts and outdoor spaces. This is a very relaxing environment, open to nature and all that entails. No microwaves or TV, just the basics in an elegant, comfortable setting! I think you must have private transportation to navigate the remote area.

We arrive late, after the last ferry got in, so we were told to go to an empty room at the top of the steps. What a thrill, staying at Hicks! The open air concept is amazing. Sleeping with just a mosquito net over us, in the open air, was a delight.
