Redwing was v clean and the staff v helpful. However, it was advertised as having a snooker table and games in a have room but there was only a fruit machine. Also the air conditioning in the bar/dining area didn't work. Although there was a bar with gin, there was no tonic!!! It was an extremely hot week and the bedrooms were very hot but the fans provided did little to help.1 of the beds in the twin room really needs a new mattress as it was completely sunken in the middle and I would suggest taking an extension lead as there is a huge lack of electric points, with none near the beds. There are however lots of things close by and I would highly recommend Hamerton Zoo.

Perfectly good for what it is, a handy hotel on the side of the road. Clean, tidy and everything needed worked. The staff are nice and welcoming. A good place to get your head down on the way.

Shower went from scalding hot to freezing cold…place is dated,will not return

Get what you pay for. Small bed. Was probably nice in 1994 lol

Staff were very polite and friendly. Very clean and good location. Bed was very comfy and room had plenty of space. But…… decor, breakfast, exterior, road, games room all awful. No imagination or inspiration. Doesn’t need money just some thought and energy. Won’t stay again would rather pay £25 more for better quality. Worst of all our room absolutely stank weed and it certainly wasn’t us!!

Budget hotel, very clean and comfortable. Excellent value for money.

Great view from the window — really peaceful and quiet. The hotel is in good condition overall, although it could do with a bit of maintenance in some areas. The staff were really helpful throughout our stay.

Stayed here several times over the years. Staff are lovely. Room clean and very very basic. The mattress was awful: obviously well past it's due date for a replacement (I barely slept) Breakfast is either toast/jam or cereal. OK for a one night stay, which I do when visiting friends.

Left early before breakfast. But reception lady offered tea. Very nice of her

Ok for someone needing a bed if working away from home

It's an isolated location, however there's a service station/shop next door

Didn't sleep well, I'm only small but I could feel all the springs in the mattress. The staff in the morning in the canteen, she is amazing, very friendly and helpful.

Whole hotel was run down for one night at side of A1 done the job. Free parking a bonus plug sockets in room limited to one. Shower was out of the dark ages let's just say there was an aroma drifting down upstairs corridor. Breakfast was cereal and toast fresh orange and cup a tea literally basically basic breakfast no toilet in the bar area or anywhere had to go back to room upstairs would not stay again as hotel is way to old furniture stained and torn and the mattress was uncomfortable

Another excellent stay

Road noise audible from the nearby A1 but expected that so ear plugs prevented any issues. Dated decor and furnishings but room clean. Tea coffee kettle in room. My priorities for this stay were location and cost and Redwing Lodge delivered on both. Staff very friendly, self service breakfast basic toasts, cereals, drinks. Perfect for a budget stopover spot.

Great stop over place. Ideal for me.
