We love the feel and the location of the Sylvia. The bar restaurant is a happening place and the staff is friendly and welcoming. It's a boutique hotel so it is definitely not a concrete jungle. Stanley Park is just outside the door. Love this place.

Wonderful stay! We were two Moms taking our kids out on the town and enjoyed the Sylvia. The hotel was clean, staff was friendly, and the location was perfect. I love that they hold on to the rich history of this property and showcase it through the artwork on each floor and in the lobby. Our kids loved reading about the cat! We did the aquarium, Stanley Park, and walked through English Bay and surrounding areas. I felt safe in this area of Vancouver- even after dark. We enjoyed dinner at Craft just down the street and breakfast the following morning at The Portrait. Both were fabulous and just what our little group of 4 was looking for. The lounge at the hotel was classic and we were able to enjoy a happy hour. Both the lounge and restaurant were busy and bustling with happy customers while we were there- I wish we could have had one more open meal to try it! We will be back!

The room was wonderful. Only real complaint was the bed was really hard. Past that, great stay.

They really lean into old school and even though I’ve been here multiple times, the charm has kind of worn off. Still a nice hotel, good location, spotlessly clean. Rooms are hit or miss, no microwave, no kettle, no smart tv, no pool and restaurant is underwhelming. Feels like a good fit for nostalgia lovers, maybe not so great for families or those looking for any kind of vibe.
