Welcoming staff, complimentary glass of wine on first night. Rooms light and airy. Replenished tea, coffee and biscuits daily. Nice period hotel

Great stay at this hotel but there are a few things that could definitely be better. First of all the room and view were lively, it was very clean and the view was amazing. Had dinner at the hotel and unfortunately the food was not very good at all from olives from a jar to a very over cooked burger and undercooked scampi.on the last day we received a note under the door offering a reduced rate to extend the stay if we contacted reception. We called down and the night porter answered and informed us he could not do it and we would need to come down and speak to reception at 8am in the morning. We did not manage this so decided to check outand when we go to reception we were told the stay had been extended that was disapointing. a note could of been put under the door to tell us then we could of stayed. overall a great hotel they just need to train there staff a bit better.

Room was nice for quaint old hotel. Heater didn’t quite work right but it was warm enough in the blankets. Bathroom was huge and location was great. Fun old hotel with gate elevator. Included breakfast was basic but hit the spot.

The staff are what makes this place great. All very helpful and friendly. Hotel and room is tired, but the xmas effort made it feel very sparkly and christmassy! Breakfast delicous. Wasn’t sure why no toiletries on offer, this is very unusual for a hotel in this price bracket. Only stayed 1 night so not too challenging.

Clean room

Room was good with a great ocean view. The staff were very kind, the room was spacious, and the heating worked well, so overall I had a comfortable stay and I would recommend this hotel for the ocean view. However, there were some water-stain marks on the ceiling (not an active leak, just old marks), and the hotel does feel a bit dated. Breakfast was not very impressive.

Staff were friendly, great location by the beachfront. Good size room with a good view over the sea. Parking on street nearby.

All the staff were friendly and super helpful. The resident pianist Alan was just fab. He was not only good but made you feel very welcome and spoke personally and passionately about the songs he was playing and gave some history behind them. He played all types of music and even asked the type of music we liked etc so he could play some for us. It was a pleasure to sit and listen to him. Our room was large and very comfortable and having the balcony that wrapped around made the views even better. They could do with a bit of TLC but not so much that it took away how nice they were. We are already planning to revisit but for a little longer as we were only on a stop over before travelling down to Kent. The staff really are an asset.

Nice view just wondering why a 5 star hotel would charge for water

De accomodatie is mooi en netjes en schoon, er zijn een aantal zaken die niet goed zijn: 1. Restaurant hotel was gesloten 2. Geen airco op de kamer 3. Te weinig opberg ruimte in de kamer voor je kleding 4. Te weinig opbergruimte in de badkamer 5.Veel te warm op de kamers 6. Na 4 dagen restaurant open maar diner was slecht. 7. Geen goede professionele rekening kreeg handgeschreven briefje, kan je niets mee.

The 5 stars were missing. It’s actually a 3 star rather than 5 hotel. It was a blend hotel; & room with no soul although spacious and with sea views. The stairs and room carpet was dirty, the bed was rock hard which gave us serous back pain and we had to take painkillers to recover from it. The breakfast was cold and lack quality

Wonderfully renovated 1905 mansion hotel. A pleasure to stay there. Friendliest staff and just 10 steps away from the sea/Boulevard.
