Long post alert! We booked this hotel months in advance of our visit to Great Yarmouth, yet when we arrived on the Friday evening to the hotel we found it to be closed! On knocking on the door we was greeted by a man (no name given) presumably in charge of the hotel who told us that they were closed for renovations and that they were unable to let us stay. We were told we should have had an email to cancel our booking but we had received nothing of the sort. Although the man was apologetic, stating that if we called the following Monday we would get a refund, this did not help us as it was around 9pm and we had travelled 3hrs from London! As we booked through Hotels.com and not directly, we thought it best to arrange our refund through them. On calling Hotels.com, they were required to confirm with the hotel that we had not stayed and the circumstances were as we told them. Over the next few days, several customer service representatives of Hotels.com, including a supervisor, attempted to contact the hotel only to find they were unable to reach them, presumably due to no phone being connected. We also tried to call the hotel with the same result. Thankfully Hotels.com were able to resolve our refund request, without having any contact from the hotel. The lack of communication and shockingly poor regard for their guests means this hotel will never be used by us again and we would advise against anyone else doing so! Rated one star as there wasn't an option to rate zero!

When I reserved a room, I was not informed that the hotel was closed, I paid.I arrived and was told on the spot that the hotel was not working, so I had to look for another hotel.

This hotel is just absolutely Horrible. Never stay there Never book there. Hotel is advertised on Expedia website as open But is Closed. Has been closed for 3 weeks + They take Bookings & your £ But No Service They are advertising to take Bookings for NY Was booked to stay there for 10 nights over Xmas & immediately had to find other accommodation upon arrival of being locked out. Don't know about pets. Parking was good. Really dated hotel. Big tear in seat of sofa in entrance. Room was dirty. Didn't make hot drink as kettle had mould in bottom of it. Only saw owner when we booked in.

Well we booked in and paid but once we saw how dirty the room was we asked for our money back . This was refused and finally agreed via hotels.com . The money has never been paid

Smelly reception - stale beer smells. Not a good check-in experience. Check-in person couldn't speak without slurring words and smells.The chair is dirty in the room. Bathroom floor tiles broken/missing. Shower door doesn't close to stay shut. Called to complain. Owner said he would sort out the guest. Didn't do this. Don't stay.

Very hard to criticise because you get what you pay for. The negatives have been spoken about a lot on various online sites so I won’t go into much detail but it’s a very dated hotel and the shower room could definitely be refreshed. But the positives are the guys I came across were really friendly and helpful. The young lad just starting his last year at school was really chatty and clearly a grafter. Hotel breakfasts these days are generally very expensive and kept under a heat lamp forever. My breakfast cost 9 quid and was cooked fresh to the order I completed on arrival. You can’t knock that.

The room was good, the staff on arrival swearing about the owner, said don't stay here, then they swore at the owner on departure our car was blocked in, no car registration system as in most hotels, at first no one knew whose car, hotel owner very aggressive, calling us selfish as we had to leave, dropped his laptop looking for info blamed us, it took around an hour for him to remember whose car it was. The hotel had no real system, on arrival he hadn't got a clue which room we were in. By the main entrance outside small car park 4 cars, then some old seats where I think there were staff sat there, the initial reception room dated. The owner was ok while everything was going well, but aggressive when he had to deal with staff or customers. It's a shame as a good location, and room was very good. The hotel needs a system, and I know it's difficult to get good staff but they were weird to be polite.

My room was very clean and had all the facilities I expected. It was a quiet and comfortable night’s sleep. However, the general appearance of the hotel was rather rundown and the check-in unconventional, in that there didn’t appear to be a reception desk or any formal check in procedure. This is rather worrying for a female solo traveller, who must always have an eye for security.

Tge room and hotel was nuce nothing special i had to deal with around 10 spiders in my room and im scared of them then there was no mini fridge to put cold drinks no dinner available apart from breakfast and the tv half the chanels did not work and you could not move the tv enough to viewJustin is very nice man friendly and on call 24 also no soap and toilet no powerful enough after you go still worth the trip and nice location bit far from main parade would stay again if sorted little things thxs again for lovely time
