Our experience was excellent. We were welcomed by staff, very friendly. The room was clean and well equipped with everything we needed. Breakfast was delicious with a choice of cereals, yogurts, juices and fruit before we opted for the Duchess full English breakfast. We also ate at the pub for our evening meal. The burgers were delicious. Staff were so attentive and friendly. Highly recommend this hotel.

Eine schöne Unterkunft mit sehr freundlichem Personal und einem sehr gemütlichen Pub in guter Lage etwas außerhalb von Woodstock und nahe dem Blenheim Palace.

Easy to find, easy to park, comfy rooms, good breakfast.

We recently stayed at a pub in Duke of Marlborough, Woodstock, UK, and unfortunately, the experience left much to be desired—particularly in terms of customer service. I had mistakenly not selected the breakfast option during booking, and when I asked to add it on the day we checked in, staff seemed reluctant and unaccommodating. Breakfast itself was disappointing. We requested a simple omelette, which wasn’t on the menu, and were told the chef wouldn’t make it. We opted for the eggs Benedict instead, only to be served hard-boiled eggs—not quite what we expected. For the price point, the quality just didn’t match. Later, my son was very hungry and arrived at the restaurant at 5:20pm hoping to get something to eat. He was turned away and told to return at 5:30pm when service officially began. It felt unnecessarily rigid, especially given the circumstances. Overall, the emphasis seemed to be more on enforcing rules and maximizing charges than on making guests feel welcome or cared for. A bit more flexibility and warmth would have gone a long way.

Friendly staff. Great first impression

Stayed here to go to a concert at Blenheim Palace. The room was beautiful, the food (dinner and breakfast) were fantastic and the staff couldn’t be more helpful. A really, really lovely country pub/restaurant. Was very impressed and would 100% stay here again. We were also able to get an Uber to Blenheim and back again which meant we were both able to have a drink and enjoy ourselves.

Fabulous, form check in to leaving the staff were fabulous...attentive , friendly and welcoming. I called ealier to let them know I would be there at 8PM and still ok for late check in. When i arrived i was shown to my room and asked if i would eating with them tonight, after dumping my stuff i went to the bar where they had set a table for me in advance. super staff and very attentive...food was good. But what really stuck out was the service and care...and different team at breakfast but exactly the same service. The hotel/pub is great, some games outside and a lovely pub...would definitely stay her again.

Lovely area and on a main road but not noisy, fantastic outside space & plenty of room in the bar area to eat, we had breakfast & dinner and both were excellent, There was a lovely lady, I think it was Sue who was extremely knowledgeable about the area & gave us some lovely ideas of where to go & what to do, we will certainly return.

Very good. - however there was an unpleasant smell of sewage outside in the car park throughput the stay

What a fantastic couple of days. Fantastic location with all the comforts of home plus more. The service was outstanding as was the food available which as almost at Michelin star standard.
