We have stayed here before and we love it here. We were warned in advance there was to be a big party that night of our stay. But it was no bother at all and so kind the hotel gave us advance warning. Such a beautiful place to stay

Wonderful bathroom, although no evening meal available had access to free public transport to get into town and back.

The property was good. The view is amazing.

Lovely comfortable room with an exceptional view. It was disappointing that the restaurant was closed both nights we stayed. Breakfast was ok. It would have been good to have clearer instructions that you need to say you are a guest of the hotel in order to get a free trip up on the funicular railway (we expected it to be free and showed our Lucern Guest Card but were told by the ticket office that we had to pay)

Place was fine and staff super helpful but after a very long drive and dead tired, we were told the restaurant and bar were closed on Sunday. The hotel location is rather remote but helpful staff directed us to the nearest.

Receptionist very helpful, providing information over and above ref what to see and do. Also very helpful saving a car parking space close to the property due to a car problem. We were both very impressed by the amazing views and would not hesitate to stay there again.

It is peaceful place, healing, tracking, fun with mini tram. staffs are fantastic and helpful, Oh my gosh, breakfast was fantastic too.

The hotel was clean but sort of sparse with limited dining. It looked like a nicely converted dormitory. Not much happening in the remote neighborhood.

Beautiful surroundings and outstanding food. Great staff.

A mountain hotel that has a funicular 10-5 it was lovely great views lovely check in staff but a long way to town

The room and the view and the surrounding area were all amazing! It was beautiful, and we loved the animals that lived there. Transportation was very dicey. I would not stay here without a car. Furthermore the reception only works from 8-5, so getting their help to call a taxi required much more coordination than I would have liked. We almost missed our train because of these logistics.

Hotel Sonnenberg has amazing views and is wonderfully quiet and peaceful. The grounds are really lovely and walkable - complete with great playground. We really enjoyed dinner at the restaurant which had both great meat and vegetarian options.

Hotel Sonnenberg was very clean and its location on the hill provided wonderful views, even though it rained the whole timescale were there. The breakfast was excellent and the staff members were all so helpful with helping us with directions, figuring out transportation, etc. I highly recommend this hotel and even better if you have a vehicle, as it’s a bit outside of Lucerne. Still manageable even if you don’t have a vehicle, though, with Uber in to town.

It very nice scenery. I like the place and the staff is very friendly. The restaurant food is good. The hotel is on top of the hill and the road to the hotel is very narrow and scary. Bad thing is some rooms don’t have bathroom in it and was shared bathroom & toilet with all other rooms.

Amazing views of the lake, Mt Pilatus and surrounding countryside. About a 10 minute drive to the old town.

Excellent hotel with amazing views.

The property definitely delivers on its view and serenity promises. The funicular to the bottom of the hill and back up is kinda fun, too. On the other hand, the service is ... idiosyncratic. They had a couple of large groups come for supper, and so the kitchen decided to not take any supper reservations from guests staying there, even for a small family and given the difficulties of finding alternative eating arrangements (none nearby). Didn't even try to accommodate - just SOL guys! Restaurant menu looked great, though we didn't have a chance to taste it. Breakfast doesn't become available until 800 am (at least at the end of April when we were there), which will be disruptive for travellers who prefer an early start to their day.

Amazing location and amazing people. And don’t miss the breakfast in the hotel .

Great hotel with friendly staff and pretty good clean rooms and facilities as well. The view is superb from this hotel.
