Stayed here many times over the years, usually with our dog. The Kings Head always delivers, quite old fashioned inside but it adds to the charm, comfortable rooms, always friendly staff. Wouldnt stay anywhere else in Ross. Recommended

All of the team were very friendly and helpful. There was a young lady who served us breakfast and she was exceptional …. unfortunately we didn’t get her name. The only negative point was the stairs that were narrow in parts and not very wide. We are pensioners and found them difficult to claim.

Easy parking and friendly breakfast staff . An extremely good base for exploring the area. An historic hotel so guests will forgive the creaky floorboards and unusually wayward floorboards. Clean and well provisioned,

Our room was very pleasant and had everything we needed. The staff were very pleasant and quick to rectify a small problem I had.

Lovely staff, amazing room, excellent evening and superb breakfast. Almost can’t fault it. Sadly the person upstairs decided to get their 10,000 steps in before 7.00am. No idea how you can walk and bang around in a single room so much. Being an old building we heard every step. Not the hotels fault at all but a shame one ignorant selfish (swear word omitted) person had no consideration for anyone other than themselves. We were in Room 3. Would go again tbf. Pretty faultless besides.

Lovely hotel, great bar and selection of ales, breakfast is excellent.

The room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. The quirky uneven floor testament to the age of the hotel. The staff were amazing, helpful and friendly. Breakfasts super tasty.

Downstairs was lovely and food and service was excellent. Booked a superior room although not sure that it was … bed was large and comfortable, bed linen was good quality. Bathroom and carpet in the bedroom let it down .. tv could have been a tad bigger.

Great bed!! Room and bathroom good, bearing in mind this is an old building. Double steep flight of stairs could be problematic for older people. Host is very amenable.

Warm welcome, super friendly staff. Comfy room and bed in slighty creaky but charming building. Great quality breakfast and excellent service. Busy bar and great atmosphere. Free parking and walked around a bustling Ross on Wye. Great stay in King's Head.

We loved our stay - the room was very comfortable and bed was king size. Breakfast was good and accommodated vegans. Our dog was very welcome and they even offered a doggie breakfast! Staff were very friendly.

This lovely old coaching inn is so convenient for Ross town centre. I love the sitting room (in winter they have a real fire). The staff are very helpful (offer to carry bags upstairs) and the good is better than excellent. This isn’t my first stay and it won't be my last.

Old hotel but clean and charming

Dinner that night was fine...but otherwise, why would I ever come to this property again?

Beautiful old building with a lovely bar/pub and restaurant (which we only used for breakfast). Staff were allvery friendly. Room was furnished very well, with a big, comfortable bed, however the duvet appeared to be two singles zipped together rather than a super kingsize and only just covered the bed. There was a fair amount of noise in the early mornings from outside (pub preparations) and the room upstairs, so I needed my earplugs. The bathroom decor was good and nice, big white towels, but the shower door wouldn't close completely, so a lot of water escaped onto the floor. Excellent location in the town centre.
