Good location, good breakfast, helpful staff. No vanity kit.

room is clear, neat, and tidy. I felt comfortable while I stayed there for 11 nights. But room is too dark and small, without pot for boiling water (Belgium is cold, I wanted to make tea at night...). oh, and needed to borrowed the hair dryer from reception, it's not a default in room. But the reception and staff were really nice! They taught me lots of things (how to rent FIET, find laundry.....).

Breakfast was excellent. Great location right opposite the train station.

Our room was carpeted -- extremely dirty and we ended up walking around with shoes. The bathroom was also disgusting - reeked of mildew upon walking in and the water in the shower did not drain. An alright experience - great location near the train, but overall nasty room.

Close to rail station and good breakfast!

Booked six nights, stayed one, checked out the next morning. On arrival the room had towels, a mattress with exposed springs, broken lighting, non-functioning heat, a persistent bathroom odor, and visible insects in the bathroom — materially different from the listing. I reported this within 15 minutes of arrival and requested another room; none was available. The property verbally agreed to refund part of the stay but has not processed it. As of this review, I have received no refund. The booking platform has not been able to assist in resolution. I would not stay here again.

Comfortable facilities, friendly staff. Bathroom was as big as the room itself. Good internet. Staff was kind enough for letting me leave my bicycle at the reception (only space for 1 bicycle) during my stay. The only downside was finding there is easily twice as much space needed for breakfast, as I was told "you can wait or we can find a free seat in a table in use", I was basically told to sit with any other family as there wasn't enough room. This happened as other guests continued to arrive for having breakfast

Top locatie direct tegenover station Leuven. Hotel is gevestigd in een monumentaal pand. Ontbijtzaal en restaurant hebben een rustieke uitstraling met grote ramen en veel houten details. Op basis van foto's op website van Expedia en Google hadden we dit hotel gekozen voor ons verblijf van drie nachten. Helaas bleek kamer 313 er totaal anders uit te zien dan de foto's. Vlekkerige oude vloerbedekking vlekken op de muren. Kapotte gordijnhaken. Slecht lopende afvoer van douche en wastafel. Kortom kamer heeft dringend een renovatie nodig. Ontbijt en diner waren goed. Personeel vriendelijk.

Le Royal is a rather old hotel. I was only there for two separate nights. The first room (15-16 January) was on the back of the building, small but large enough for one person. The room was quiet but there was a regular tick in the wall during the night, I suppose from the heating. The wifi didn't work well and getting the shower to produce the right temperature of water was a challenge. The second night (19-20 January) I had a room at the front of the building overseeing the square in front of the train station. Still quiet enough. The room was larger, the wifi worked better, and the shower was friendlier. Staff and procedures were very friendly, straightforward, and efficient. For short stays I'd recommend this hotel.

Great breakfast, room clean and comfortable with great view over the square. Had to wait for staff member for quite a long time to check me in.

Clean room next to the central station. The room is descent no problems. The breakfast is amazing. The room is not renovated but it doesn't have any problems.

Shocked by the standard of the room compared to the pictures. Having prepaid we could not change hotel.
