I paid over $430 for one night expecting a relaxing stay at the Hilton Garden Inn South Padre Island Beachfront, but the experience was incredibly disappointing from the start. I arrived late in the evening, only to find that my room wasn’t even ready which is completely unacceptable for any hotel, especially one at this price point.
The only room available had wet carpet, a foul odor, and large fans running to dry it out. Even housekeeping was confused as to why we were assigned that room. To make matters worse, the air conditioning in the room wasn’t working properly, making the already uncomfortable situation even more unbearable.
I spoke with Josh at the front desk and Cynthia, the manager, and all they offered was to add points to my account as if that makes up for a night spent in subpar, borderline uninhabitable conditions. There were no other rooms available, and clearly no real effort to provide a meaningful resolution.
For the amount of money we spent, this was a terrible customer service experience. I would not recommend staying here, and this stay has made me seriously reconsider ever booking with Hilton again
