Very good!

We had a great stay at the RIU. Our room was spacious, clean and quiet. Our check in with Luis was great and very fast! We had great service at the main restaurant from Melissa and then again at breakfast. Mellisa was a wonderful server and she spoke very good English which is helpful to me as I am still learning Spanish. The buffet breakfast is amazing. We also enjoyed a nice afternoon at the pool. We did had a bad experience on Saturday at the main bar. We came to bar and sat down and waited. We were never acknowledged and the tall female bartender never made eye contact with us and never spoke to us. Then a new male bartender came and he did the same and ignored us. He then waited on a couple that had come to the bar after us. The bar was not busy. There were 3 couples there counting us. Maybe it was because my wife is Latina and I am Americano? Not sure what their issue was. Service can be slow in Panamá but this was different. We just left and went to the main restaurant where we ordered a nice model of wine an appetizers and this is where we experienced great, friendly service from Melissa. All in all a great hotel and we will return and we would recommend the hotel.

Nice hotel and great location

My stay at RIU Plaza Panamá was nothing short of excellent. From the moment I arrived, the service was top-tier—professional, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The staff went above and beyond to ensure every detail was handled with care, and their friendliness truly made the experience feel warm and personal. The hotel amenities are impressive and well-maintained, offering everything you need for both comfort and convenience. The rooms were spotless, modern, and incredibly comfortable—cleanliness was clearly a priority throughout the entire property. The restaurants deserve special praise. Each dining space was beautiful, immaculate, and thoughtfully designed, with a great variety of delicious options. The presentation, atmosphere, and cleanliness were outstanding, making every meal feel like a treat. Overall, RIU Plaza Panamá delivers an exceptional hotel experience with excellent service, friendly staff, beautiful amenities, and pristine surroundings. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Panama City.

The hotel and rooms were clean but ventilation was poor. Smelled musty all over the hotel, especially in the rooms. Pleasantly surprised by the variety of food at the breakfast buffet but a lot of the times the food was room temp or colder. The waiters at the poolside restaurant were very helpful and pleasant. They helped us prepare for our event with the decorations. The food served at the restaurant by the pool was always cold no matter what was ordered except the whole, fried fish, that was very good. The waiters were always smiling, even when we had to send the food back a few times because it was not prepared well or was cold. The drinks also needed to be sent back a few times. Thank you Katsia (hope I spelled her name right) and friends. Lastly, we left a day earlier than expected because of impending bad weather back home, but the hotel refused to reimburse us.

I had to go out and buy my own bath towels because they have a limit of 2 bath cloth/face cloths per day per room. Which means if I get up in the morning, wash my face, got to the gym and come back to shower, I must use the same cloth ALL day long. On several days i could only get only 1 as they promised someone would bring another one and they never did. We stay 7 day and 6 night and will NEVER stay again. We usually stay at Sortis and JW Marriott but wanted to try something different. The shower wand did not work. We had an early morning flight and was up at 4 am. NO WATER AT ALL. NO SHOWER, NO WATER in sink. Had to use bottled water we had left from the day before. The ONLY good thing was the breakfast buffet and the nice people that worked there. Bartenders are not good at drinks. We wasted 7 days and 6 nights and a lot of money at Hotel Riu. Never ever again

The room was always cleaned, breakfast was vast with lots of options and the staff were very polite and friendly.

The first room was clean but the window has moisture in between the panel so you can’t see outside. The next day I told the front desk and they rectified it by moving us to a different room with no hustle

Room and staff were excellent

The hotel is nice but the smell in the hallway of my room floor smells horrible. I was in the shower and then my power went out I had to shower in the dark and then use my cell phone light to finish getting myself together because my uber was coming at 7am to catch my flight back home. The hotel offered to send a maintenance worker up but I didn’t have time for him to physically fix anything being I had a flight to catch
