Great staff, very helpful, very friendly, always smiling, good location, we just had one issue and that was having no hot water, the hotel manager mr reneesh kindly moved us to another room immediately. Thank you all .

Sterling Kodai Lake amazed us! The lush green garden was beautifully maintained, and the property itself is a stunning highlight of Kodaikanal. There were many great photo spots in the facility. The service team was wonderful, and overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay by the lake.

Supporting staff

Property was good and staff were attentive. My issue is with the payment. I booked through Expedia app with pay at property option. I paid at the property with cash at the end of the trip but I have been charged the room rents again on my credit card on file. The charges on my credit card statement says Sterling Resort, Chennai. Not by Expedia. But the resort says charges were done by Expedia. Beware when using credit cards around the property.

Everything was good

The stay and service were really good. The food quality and quantity were also really good. Thanks to Corsswin, Prabha and Chef Kathiravan for making stay wonderful.

The common facilities like the restaurant and the game area is really nice. The bedrooms and bathrooms on the other hand are little old and need renovation.

Good location and ambience. Very polite, friendly abd helpful staff. Excellent service by everyone. Spacious rooms. Unfortunately no views from most of the rooms. Also the bathroom is old but clean. Shower not so good; had to take shower in one inch of water on the floor due to poor drainage.

Excellent property.

We were 17 adults. I booked 7 rooms 4 months ago . I stayed ooty sterling 2 nights ( all 17 ) Kodikkanal sterling had terrible experience. First they don’t have big vehicles access to resort. Second they accommodate 7 rooms , but they charge for 2 adults 3790 for even sleeping in the floor. For 3 days trip they charge me over $ 3000.00 . Very bad

Room maintenance needs to be looked into. The tiles had water marks all over. The soap dispenser was coming out. The sofa was too soft to sit onto. The blankets were not properly maintained. Outside the rooms the property was good but the room condition wasn't good

Great rooms and good walking areas. Childrens play area is good and liked the cycles on rent feature.

It is not by the lake. You can only barely see the lake from one part of the hotel, and that tool few hundred meters away. Terrible service. No Wi-Fi except lobby. And to top it all they give weird juvenille excuses as if the guests are morons. It is not the individual servers that were bad, the management sucks. Big time.

Breakfast is very poor taste wise if you are used to tasty food. The restaurant cutlery cleanliness is questionable as forks and knives which fall on to the floor are replaced on the table with out being cleaned by the staff with out even blinking an eye

Wifi not working in the room and not in the lobby. Poor quality of bed and pillows . Paints gone from walls . Urgently required maintanance..food was gud and restaurant staff was very polite and helpful..

I had a breif vacation with my daughter.. enjoyed the aura of the place. not too hi fi but simple sweet and cozy. I liked their food. happy with the staff. absence of wi fi in the rooms was a lil disappointing. rest all I am v happy.

The resort is located at a nice spot.. Reachable easily by a local taxi. The lake view is nice. The front desk is very helpful and they helped me check-in / check out easily and quickly. The villa like rooms very stunning and the interiors were of high quality. Only thing we noticed was there is no pre installed room heaters. We had to call the housekeeping to provide us a portable room heaters. They housekeeping staff was highly hospitable and quick in responding. The most amazing thing about the resort is the in house restaurant. The food was amazing. They also have a food truck at the resort lawn, serving coffee / tea and snacks. The lawn is beautiful and well maintaine. They have an amazing set of out door activities. They got in house bicycle hire shop, so it is very comfortable to hire a bicycle for an hour and take a quick tour around the lake. The food / other amenities are at a reasonable price compared to the location. The engement activities like bon fire, DJ night, theme based dinner..Was amazing. Overall it was a great experience and an unforgettable stay at the 'Sterling by the lake'. Can't wait to come back to your hotel!! :) Great job guys!

The stay was good at the resort with clean rooms and excellent staff. It is highly recommended for families with young kids as there are many activities within the resort. The only negative is that the restaurant is run by a different vendor and their pricing is quite confusing - varying from low to very high. Food taste is average.

I found that the staff were sluggish, and not up to date with tourist information. Not too clean. The bathroom smelt very strongly of mould.
