This hotel has a lot of potential, but unfortunately it feels like it's running on borrowed time.
The biggest disappointment was the front desk experience. The curly-haired woman at reception was neither friendly nor helpful and didn't seem interested in providing good customer service. On the other hand, Héctor, one of the waiters, was fantastic—friendly, attentive, and genuinely pleasant. He was easily the highlight of the staff.
The property advertises that it's being "renovated," but during our entire week-long stay, we didn't see a single person working. Meanwhile, several of the pools weren't even usable because they were run down and looked dirty. It made the resort feel neglected rather than under renovation.
The food was another letdown. Not only was it mediocre, but the prices were outrageous. Paying 360 pesos for a tiny plate of chicken chilaquiles is hard to justify, especially considering the quality.
On the positive side, the air conditioning in the rooms worked great, which was appreciated in the heat. I also loved seeing the iguanas wandering around the property, and the raccoons at night were a fun surprise.
The hotel was inexpensive, so I guess you get what you pay for. But unless they invest in a major renovation—not just advertise one—I don't see how this property remains competitive much longer. It's a shame because the location and grounds could make it a really special place.
