Upon arrival there had been a burst water pipe at the property. They swiftly upgraded us to a beautiful 2 bedroom apartment looking out to the golf course. This was spotlessly clean and very spacious with all amenities. The room was also very quiet. The pool area was clean and well maintained with towels and lockers provided. Overall a wonderful stay in a beautifully clean and well kept hotel with friendly and attentive staff.

Can’t fault anything weather for business or pleasure a great place to stay.

All the staff right across the site were amazing, professional and polite. Breakfast was great (not the scrambled egg) Room was clean, only downfall was the finish of the ceiling with cutout patches, uneven and not painted. We were attending a wedding there, venue was great. A special callout to Jordan, Oscar and Mark who have a great sense of humour and helped make it that little bit more special. We would love to stay again when in the area.

Hot, Hot, Hot. No AC, room view was of the LEV from the kitchen. Spirts bar was noisy with staff do distant they might as well of been serving from Mats

A major disappointment was the lack of air conditioning in the apartments. Even at night they remained in the 30 degree C range. Aside from that, the facility is outstanding and the staff were very helpful. I had a family group of 20 staying, and the Old Thorns staff were excellent including setting up a private dinner for all 20 of us.

I stayed when visiting the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Large car park but virtually full due to golf and leisure users. The room was not cleaned! When I arrived back in the room at 10.00pm it was a bit late to request a clean and bed making as I needed to be up at 05.30. The leisure facilities were not used but seemed very popular. Breakfast was buffet style. Satisfactory. I ate in the sports bar. Typical pub style food. I would stay again but overall not as good as anticipated.

A lovely hotel, staff and food fabulous. Would of been to have air conditioning in the room. Hottest week and fan did very little to cool us down.

Great stay but HOT! We've stayed at Old Thorns a few times but sadly I won't be staying again during summer. There is no air conditioning in the rooms and the fan provided (had to request it) was quite rubbish. Our room, apart from being hotter than the sun, was great though. Massive bed and lots of room around it. Had a few issues, such as the phone not working to enable us to request a fan, lack of fridge and very dusty/dirty up-lighters. We really enjoyed the pool area and being able to read a book on the loungers.

Upon arrival to the hotel we were immediately impressed by the grounds and the buildings. The car park is big so there is no worry about finding a space in which to park. The Reception staff were very friendly and checked us in without any issue. All staff were helpful and courteous in dealing with us during our stay. Our room was spacious, well equipped with tea /coffee making facilities, an iron and ironing board, hairdryer and a tower fan which came in useful during the warm nights. The bathroom was clean and tidy. There was a decent buffet breakfast with both hot and cold options, and the food was replenished frequently. We visited the Sports Bar for food and drinks whilst the Qatar v Switzerland game was on, service was friendly and fast. We enjoyed a carvery meal on the Sunday evening, again the food was hot, plentiful and delicious! We enjoyed a couple of drinks at the The Deers Hut pub which is about 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Great atmosphere there too. We made use of the swimming pool, which thankfully, was warm. Towels are provided so no need to bring your own. You can get locker keys by swapping your room card. Definitely a place to revisit.

The room was clean but the lack of air conditioning really let it down. Although we stayed in a particularly warm spell, I imagine that it would be pretty uncomfortable a lot of the time. It was difficult to sleep due to the heat. The staff were really friendly but not particularly efficient in the Sports Bar. Many people were queuing for quite some time to get a drink. The vegetarian options in the Sports Bar were extremely limited. The option picked was awful but a refund was given without any issues. The non-vegetarian choices made were ok but nothing special for the prices charged. It put us off dining in the restaurant. Breakfast was ok and could have been improved by different coffee options, more fresh fruit, and better quality pastries. Labels on items would have helped those with dietary issues/restrictions. All in all we did enjoy our stay but a few tweaks would have made it somewhere to return to.

Searched specifically for a hotel with a pool, turn up at the pool to find out that kids are only allowed in for 2 x 2 hour sessions. Only a fan in the room, no air conditioning, so no one slept well.

Spa was amazing, I had a back massage which was so nice. The rooms could do with a bit of a touch up as some of the decor is bit tired now. Also Air conditioning would be a benefit we did have a fan but the room was so hot.

Very good. Great parking. Food was very good. Gym is excellent.

Breakfast was ok. Basic selection. Found the sausages a bit salty, no omelette options, no hot chocolate drink. Rooms were clean. All had bath tub.
