Very good place to stay and spacious room

I mistakenly thought this hotel was super near to the shanghai hongqiao station. it was not. my bad. I called and was informed that they do not have shuttle service from hongqiao, so we hailed a ride. We arrived on a super rainy day. hotel bellboy was very eager to help us with our luggage even though he did not understand English. the place is rather far from metro station. i would not recommend walking. we hailed a ride 8 yuan for each trip. there is not a lot of interesting places nearby, but isn't the point of booking a nice hotel is to enjoy the hotel? Check in process was smooth. we had booked a non smoking room. i found some cigarette holes on the bed sheets. but i ignored it because i just don't have the energy to complain to the hotel staff. it was a comfortable room. the room was clean and did not smell. TV channels are limited, not much channels with English subtitles. no free wifi available. Breakfast was wonderful. We tasted almost everything, from porridge to soup all dish was tasty. They also had yogurt and plenty of fruits. I did not enjoy their Japanese food, it was...... rather weird to my taste. Texture temperature size taste, they can do better. They can do better on their drinks too, it was very limited. Chinese food was tasty. English breakfast was good. Salad and cheese platter was okay. They had waffles and pancakes, muffins and steamed yams. We ate to our content. We did not try their swimming pool or sauna. Maybe next time. Check out process was very quick. It was overall a lovely stay for us. Thank you.
