Private beach and swimming pools are beautiful and very well maintained. Staff is very friendly and helpful

Spacious and elegant hotel, staff friendly, attentive and efficient. The international restaurant lacks interest but the Tunisian offering makes up for it. The lunchtime facilities lack a really interesting light offering and no alternative to the poolside location when the weather is uninviting.

The hotel was beautiful in an old school glamour way, I could imagine this hotel being an embassy in a previous era. Warm marble, domed ceilings, chandeliers, fountains - even the walkways smelt perfumed. The room was spacious, luxurious (fresh flowers in the room) and the small balcony overlooked the pool. The staff were very attentive and kind enough to provide us with extra amenities we required. The only small downside was that it is located quite far from any outside restaurants or sites that need to be travelled to by taxi, but it was worth the trade off to have a private beach behind the hotel.

Extraordinary service, immaculately clean and beautiful inside and out. Loved returning to our hotel at the end of a day filled with excursions to warm welcomes and the heady scent of orange blossom and jasmine in the air. It’s a true sanctuary to rest and relax with top bedding and comfortable sleep.

We booked this hotel because the Food and Beverage Manager assured us they could handle our daughter's nut and sesame allergy. We had all our meals (breakfasts and dinners) in the hotel. I can say after a week, they handled our daughter's allergy with care. In particular, the breakfast manager alerted us to stay away from many foods which I appreciated. The evening chef also took time too cook my daughter's meals separately which we appreciated. My mother is a vegetarian and they were also accommodating to her needs. Everyone here is really nice. The lady who makes tea by the indoor pool, the evening front desk lady (can't recall her name), the breakfast waiters, the dinner waiters, the maids, everyone). Even the guy who cuts lawns took time to show us some rabbits and chickens. Thanks to him too. The grounds are immaculate. Not a crumb in site and everything is top notch. The food was good in the restaurant and especially good at breakfast. Beds are super comfortable. This hotel was an oasis after returning back from our day trips each day. Good job to the entire team and thank you for a perfect stay. The only thing I would change is adding a 2nd bench to the weight room somehow:)

I was debating whether to stay in the medina or further out. I am glad I chose The Residence. Amazing short trip…staff make you feel truly welcomed, the hotel smells amazing, room service twice a day, live music, freshly squeezed juices and a lovely relaxing ambience. Anis the waiter and Anis the restaurant manager took good care of us. You can take cabs to the medina and places like sidi Bou Said.

Beautiful hotel and more importantly, really great people! The level of service is on another level. We had fresh roses in the bathrobe, next to bathtub, table, side table etc etc. Breakfast was amazing with lots of options.

The hotel itself is luxurious but it’s rather remote. In the summer, I imagine it would be okay to just hang out at the beach or play golf. For winter, both those options were out, and there wasn’t much to do there. But the main reason I am rating the hotel a 4 rather than a 5 is because of their spa. It was the worst spa at a luxury hotel that I had ever been to. The staff was inattentive, the quality of their services was mediocre, and they had no amenities at all for their clients. No towels in the locker room, nor anywhere in the sauna or pool areas. No hair brushes or combs for after you receive your services, so I went to the airport from the spa with greasy hair for the rest of the day from the facial and massages. Food at restaurants were likewise mediocre, but the saving grace for all this was our server, Mohamed. He was attentive, thoughtful, and was always trying to do more for our dinner experience.

A very nice hotel which benefits from an excellent team who provide a high level of service all round. Enjoyed the large outdoor heated pool and indoor spa, the hotel also has it's own private beach area and a nearby golf course. We ate in the Chinese and Tunisian restaurants which were both excellent and good value. There was also live music every night at the bar which was very comfortable and again the service excellent. If there is any criticism, the rooms would benefit from an upgrade. Doesn't need anything drastic, the shower blocked while we were there (quickly fixed) and a fresh coat of paint, re grouting and a new mirror in the bathroom would make a big difference. Only a £10 taxi ride from the airport and most of the tourist attractions are within 15-20 minutes by taxi. Would we go back, definitely.

This is a really beautiful building and resort area. I would highly recommend it for a family getaway and will almost certainly do so when its summer again. Highlights for me were the spa area, the grounds and outdoor pool area, the short distance from the airport, and the delicious meals.
