Friendly staff and nice surroundings

Excellent welcome, rooms are spacious and luxurious with beautiful views and the spa is a lovely experience. The meal was lovely and in the morning an amazing breakfast

We spent a weekend at The Coniston Hotel Country Estate & Spa near Horton and had a wonderfully relaxing time. The setting is breathtaking — nestled in the Yorkshire Dales, it’s perfect for unwinding or heading out for scenic walks, especially around nearby Horton-in-Ribblesdale. The highlight of our stay was without a doubt the fantastic spa. The facilities are modern, clean, and beautifully designed. We especially loved the outdoor infinity pool with views across the lake, and the thermal suite was a real treat. The treatments were top-notch — highly recommend the massage. It felt like a proper luxury experience. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and spotlessly clean. We really appreciated having air conditioning, especially during the warm summer days — a rare and very welcome feature in the countryside! The countryside views from our window were stunning, and the bed was incredibly comfy. Dining at the hotel was good overall — breakfast was excellent, though dinner service was a bit slow one evening. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout, and the overall atmosphere was calm and welcoming. The car park also has the option for EV charging at very reasonable rate through project ev, just download the app and your away! Would definitely return for another spa weekend!

The grounds were beautiful, with a pretty lake and signposted walking routes. Unfortunately the restaurant online booking system for the 3 different restaurants showed inaccurate opening and closing times. So we were booked into the bar for dinner, when we preferred to dine in the main View restaurant, which online said it was closed for dinner reservations, but was actually open until 9pm.The link for the online booking reservation was generated by Expedia through an email link that Expedia sent to me confirming my room reservation. I tried to change my reservation to the View restaurant when we checked in but the receptionist said the View restaurant was fully booked. We managed to go directly to the restaurant and got a table, and during our dinner reservation noticed there were plenty of tables, so it wasn’t fully booked at all. The opening times enclosed in the information pack in the room were also inaccurate. So I feel the the restaurant booking system and incorrect opening hours needs updating immediately so guests have the correct information. Otherwise the hotel was excellent.

This is an exceptional hotel. We are very travelled and rate this as one of only a few in the UK that have European or global standard of service, culture, cleanliness, functionality, beauty .

its a lovely hotel, fabulous view, comfortable accomodation. the lake walk is pleasant, and the walkway maintained to make it reasonably accessible but not fully pushchair / wheelchair capable. its great that its dog friendly and animals are allowed in and around the place food is very nice, all made to a very high standard. it is pricy but its very pleasant and you dont feel short changed. a good location for a special event.

Spectacular location, large comfortable rooms, friendly staff, good food and drink provided all the ingredients for a most enjoyable weekend

Lovely place

I booked this hotel and dinner and when i booked the restaurant i emphasized that please bring small cake as a surprise to the table as it was my mum’s birthday. But they forgot and i am very unhappy about it. Poor service

This is our third visit to this hotel. Always feel so welcome. Our room overlooking the lake was beautiful and we really enjoy the food and ambience.

Wonderful experience

As soon as you walk through the sliding entrance doors you feel at home. This feeling is then endorsed by the friendly reception staff. Rooms are very good, Catering is of a high standard but throughout our stay we were consistently impressed by the Staff. Thanks guys

No wifi. Was not informed when booking. Was not informed on arrival. Attitudue of staff when I complained was not good. Given I have stayed here numerous times before this will be my last time

We celebrated our Golden Wedding at the Coniston Hotel, along with 12 friends. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. The service was excellent and the location was superb with views over the lake from all our rooms. All our friends thought the hotel was a perfect venue for our weekend celebration. The Winston' s Barn private dining room was fabulous.

What can I say. Our stay was one of the best, if not the best stay I have ever had. I love this hotel. Beautiful grounds, beautiful food, beautiful building. I want to give a special mention to Thomas and Flo on reception. They were incredible. Breakfast to go was ready for 5.00am (we were hiking the three peaks) and nothing was too much for these two staff. Flo was so helpful and friendly and Thomas was such a delight to deal with. The spa: WOW! Pricey but worth it. Wonderful. I’ll see this hotel soon!
