The staff were lovely and polite, attentive, but clearly it is run on shoestring, or maybe it is difficult to find staff? The hotel looks lovely and sits in keeping with the character of the area. the chef was away on holiday, i understand chef problems, hence the restaurant was closed. We did know this in advance and we booked a local pub to eat in, the staff again were helpful with this. We did return to the hotel just after 930pm, to find the bar shut and no staff on the premises. We had been made aware of the contact number but i assumed this was for later. In the morning, no cooked breakfast, and £9.50 each for a very basic continental.Again this was acceptable but a little disappointing. We do have a geniune comment, and maybe this is something the hotel can manage going forward is we had room 1, A superior room quirky and very comfortable. the problem was we awoke having both been eaten alive my mosquitos, of course i do not blame the hotel for this, but want to draw it to their attention, as the room will need some insect spray of some kind, and when i say eaten alive we both have about 40-60 bites each. we did realise this in the morning but since leaving the bites have erupted and caused considerable discomfort.

Lovely stay. Very helpful friendly girls at reception. Room very nice and spacious bathroom.We had a lovely view of the countryside. Lovely courtyard seating to enjoy drinks. Close to everywhere we needed to see. Will stay again.

This was our third stay at the hotel. We returned because it was charming and very economical. But the rooms are even more in need of updating. The breakfast is not expensive but is poor.

The staff are lovely, and the property and gardens are beautiful (although they’re not quite as new or updated as the photos make it seem). It’s more of a charming quiet calm hotel in the countryside. My only issue was that the carpet had tons of large stains on it, which was rather gross and I’d expect a hotel to have a vacuum cleaner that can take stains out of the carpet. My second issue was there was no chair or desk in the room. I didn’t care that the tv only had 4 channels- all the other country side hotels in England I went to had limited television. But the lounge area had a tv so that’s what mattered. It was clean and I’d definitely go again. I didn’t use the restaurant and I was checked in/out during regular business hours only so cannot comment on that.

Overall good value accommodation. Breakfast is buffet only. Dinner was ok, all very acceptable but not great, but then it’s not too expensive either - which balances it out. Staff are helpful. At the end of the day I’ll happily stay again if I need to be in the area.

Great bed with firm mattress. Unfortunately the shower was spouting very hot water. And the hand held shower head wasn’t spouting any water! The hotel needs some upgrading but appreciate the nightly rates are lower than many in the area. Unfortunately restaurant wasn’t open. The hotel has huge potential.

Lovely large room, gorgeous view out window. Really glad we stayed here, great value for money.

Een historisch gebouw dat prachtig is opgeknapt en van alle gemakken voorzien. Hele mooie kamer met uitzicht over een grootverdiener waar we reetjes en een vos hebben gezien. Heerlijk gegeten in het restaurant en het ontbijt basic en prima.

Found the bed a bit lumpy. Possible as it could be divided into 2 twin beds. Otherwise I loved my room, the property and the garden were beautiful.

More at the "motel" end of things than a proper hotel, but a decent enough place to stay despite that. You will NOT be staying in the house shown in the picture, but in the motel complex at the back. Continental breakfast is good value. We didn't eat there (other than breakfast) so can't comment on the food.

Good location, friendly staff, good evening & breakfast meals. Old world environment.

It was expensive for the room we were in which was a ground floor annex alongside the main building. There was no cooked breakfast provision and the restaurant looked like a canteen. Very nice hotel building and grounds.
