It’s worth the money no complaints

We wanted a somewhat old-fashioned and traditional experience, but the hotel was a little too old fashioned. Because it was October, the lack of air conditioning wasn’t a problem - but it would be a different story if it was a really hot summer day. There seemed to be ample parking, but both nights that we returned from supper about 8:00pm, the lot was full of vans and there was no where to park. The staff were helpful in my finding on street parking, but it was a very narrow street and I was concerned about my rental car getting side-swiped.

Staff and management very good and wait staff polite and had a lovely manner. Breskfast good. Shower head in room needs some attention as appears to have build up of dirt or something on it.

All very nice and happy.

Provides shampoo, shower gel, hairdryer. Clean and comfortable beds and good breakfast. Pleasant helpful staff. Convenient for what we wantes to do. Stayed many times. Hotel a bit dated in terms of decor and comment on that as that may be important to others but isnt to me. All pluses for my wants and needs = outweigh that)

The staff are very friendly and helpful and it is very convenient to the university

Quiet location within 20 mins walk of Chester. Didn't eat there only because we were traveling to and from Liverpool I would stay there again

Very restful hotel. Very comfortable, with good atmosphere. Exellent breakfasts. Good location for city access without all the noise of the centre. One small peoblem: the shower in room 19 has a pumped hot water system which swamps the cold water feed. The pressures need balancing, as the shower tends to scald.

Really pleased with my stay. My room was squeaky clean and very comfortable. I was welcomed by the proprietor, who was very helpful, as was everyone else that I met. This is a gem of a property that is close enough to be a short walk from the city centre, but away enough to be quiet and relaxing. Definitely recommended!

I stayed on a Sunday night and there was no ine around. The hotel and surrounding area, was very quiet. Everything worked as it should.

Lovely owner and friendly staff. Was able to park the car early. Didn’t opt for the meals due to other arrangements. Nice and clean room, brilliant shower. Would suggest extra pillows being available for the bed, but that is a personal preference. Would definitely stay again.

Cosy room; great breakfast; excellent service. However: car park cramped, and pricing for a single night excessive.

Great location to walk in to city centre

Hotel room was a bit small to move around. However bed was super comfortable. The traffic noise from nearby road is noticeable specifically after 5am though I am a light sleeper. Shower could do with good clean there were black stains on silicon/grout. Staff very helpful and breakfast good value specially recommend the scrambled eggs and smoked salmon. Handy location for visiting the city walls of Chester.
