Very friendly staff, lovely size room and a lot of freedom within the hotel

Lovely atmosphere and great breakfast.

This was our second day at the hotel. It was a delight to meet with staff members who remembers us from last year. Everyone is very friendly. The atmosphere is one of calm and professional bar staff and restaurant staff providing good quality service. Our room was well maintained and it’s obvious that the Hotel is undergoing some amazing refurbishment but this does not impact on standards. We look forward to coming back later in the year.

The room was very worn and dated. Stained carpet, the curtain pelmet was grey with thick dust and cobwebs. The general hotel main areas were good and the location excellent. Nice breakfast. Swimming pool was murky and the chlorine burned your eyeballs. That was if you could actually get in it 3 times we tried and it was full of school kids screaming and jumping in so we gave up and left. Changing rooms are dirty and full of hair. Overall quite a disappointment and wouldn't stay here again.

Clean room - great staff

The total experience from arrival to departure was made extremely enjoyable by the interactions with the hotel team. From reception to bar and dining room staff, everything was just as I expected from a hotel of this standard. High standard of cleanliness of the room, good facilities, with a very comfortable bed.

Schönes uriges Hotel

Based on this stay, as we’ve been before, loses 1 star for slightly lower breakfast quality than previous. Likely due to being busy and our stay between Xmas and NYE. It wasn’t bad but we’ve had better hot food before. Room was an upgrade and extremely spacious however be aware you hear the upstairs guests walking around. Fortunately they weren’t dancing the night of our stay as it was 1:30 in the morning when it woke us up. Charging points made available on request. Had to move one guest as both spaces occupied by non-EV’s. Not an issue and easily sorted. Staff pleasant enough dealing with a very busy night. No bad experience here for us. Overall great hotel for our stay, place hopefully will get some more investment, a lick of paint here and there (bedroom windows paint flaking) and perhaps a new carpet or two.

Clean comfortable room, lovely hotel stayed for New Year beautifully decorated. Staff friendly and helpful. Ideal location for train station and town. Going through renovation some areas are tired looking but this didn’t impact our stay. Food in restaurant was good, although the set price menu advertised throughout the hotel was not available which was disappointing and we only found out once we were seated in the restaurant. We will definitely be back for location and hotel are lovely

Swimming pool not the best , slippery floor ... Our room very small and the window was draughty , the lift was ok but slow to open , not conducive to someone with claustrophobia !! Friday night gathering very noisy for a while , but overall a good stay

Lovely Victorian grand hotel in a great location. Staff were all very helpful and friendly. We were lucky to be given a complimentary upgrade to a sea view, which we really appreciated. Our room was comfortable and spotlessly clean. We'd definitely stay here again.

We had a night stay. The room was clean and spacious all staff were lovely and attentive. Food was good. Will stay here again on our next visit.
