Good Central location, easy walk to Cliffs Pavillion and Town Centre. Quiet. Tasty breakfast. On Street parking bays close by

Hamilton’s is a very nice bijou bread and breakfast with some interesting history. After staying there one night I was inspired to go to Books on Sea and pick up a copy of a history of Lady Hamilton! My daughter and I stayed in a lovely double room with a view of the back garden; we slept very well. The bed was very comfortable and there were lots of amenities including plenty of tea and coffee. The hairdryer was full power, thankfully. I had a peek at the suites and they are absolutely gorgeous with a sea view so I shall be returning with my husband. Breakfast was wonderful. My daughter and I had avocado on toast with egg and the most lovely fresh fruit salad. There were plenty of other options too. The dining room is so sweet and well decorated you just feel like you’re in Bridgerton. We were able to walk into town in one minute for shopping at the Royals or the High Street and maybe four minutes down to the seafront! The only thing I should note was that our room required walking up quite a few flights of stairs. The minimum for any room is one flight of stairs, but I think ours was four. Which is fine because there’s a lot of hills in Southend anyway. This hotel is excellent and also very good value so I highly recommend it

Lovely host and room. Breakfast was really nice. Noise from the road outside and loud cars at night was the only downside (albeit no fault of our our host).

Very nice stay at this hotel. Very clean and big sized rooms. Will be booking again when we visit Southend-on-Sea in the future.

This hotel is beautifully presented with lots of attention to detail. The staff were extremely helpful and the breakfast was amazing. I've stayed in so many hotels lately that were a disappointment so I didn't expect too much. I was very pleasantly surprised and will definitely return!

What an awful stay - everything was OK until I woke up in the small hours of the morning with bites all over my arms. I ended up sleeping width ways at the foot of the bed as I am certain that bedbugs had bitten me whilst lying on the pillows by the headboard. I complained to Debbie in the morning and she steadfastly refused to acknowledge that it could be bedbugs even though I showed here all the bites, including 2 on my neck. I visited a pharmacist in Southend Tesco on Tuesday morning and he assured me that they did look like bedbug bites and prescribed me antihistamines. My arms swelled up on Tuesday - I had been bitten approximately 26 times and I was very uncomfortable. I have used Expedia to book hotels all over the continent over the last 15 years and have not had a single complaint but this was a very unpleasant experience which I do not believe was adequately dealt with. Shame on you Hamilton House - a more sympathetic response would have negated a response such as this.

We had a great stay. Debbi was very accommodating the room was really comfortable with a lovely sea view. We really enjoyed the excellent choice at breakfast too.

Absolutely excellent stay

The staff was very nice ans made us fill very welcome, the location was perfect but you have to pay for.parking up till 6pm and from 8am. Breakfast was extremely nice , the only thing i would say is the matress was very well worn and could have done with changing.

Great place to stay.

Sea view is obscured by trees. Balcony tbh not worth the upgrade as apart from no direct view of the sea we both felt the deck boards unsafe to stand on as very flexible. Room was larger then expected and if old school is your thing you'd love it. Exposed period floor board's which creak on every movement. Breakfast was great although took 25 min from ordering to turning up and somewhat smaller then expected but good. Staff all great and helpful. We was meeting family in Southend after returning to UK from holiday so they ended up staying in the hotel down road (Seven) so we meet them there.

Excellent and welcoming when we arrived, gave us all details of where to go etc. very comfortable rooms and beds and a lovely fresh breakfast 👍😁

Nicely furnished, maintained, and managed accommodation with a yummy breakfast! Nice access to area attractions! It was a bit hot with no air conditioning and without much breeze blowing so, we tried to keep the windows opened … however, motorcycles and talking pedestrians outside were noisy rather late. So, there was a trade off between having a cooler room with open windows but having to endure disturbingly loud motorcycles and other street noises. Luckily there was a portable fan in the room … if not for that fan, it would have been uncomfortably hot and sweaty.

Fantastic breakfast - very tasty, one of the best we've had. Room was fine, bathroom a little cramped (especially the toilet - very little knee room). Shower looked fancy, albeit water/limescale stained, and not really sufficient water pressure. No dedicated parking, lucky if you can park on the road out front, otherwise nearby car parks can work out very expensive.
