Very good spa and fabulous restaurant.

This was a hard review to write. We really wanted to like this place. Unfortunately, the building is in disrepair. They were short staffed our entire stay, had no reasonable accommodations for early morning wake ups, their 'outdoor trail' was not maintained, the facilities were either closed or again in disrepair. Every step in the hall or on a stair was creaky and bouncy, the wall paper was peeling, they changed out the plumbing fixtures but didn't repair the old holes, etc. Overall, this place gave an aura of previous grandeur that had been neglected. Breakfast was meh.

This hotel was probably state of the art 35/40 yrs ago. It’s very well photographed but in honesty… it’s awful. Rooms are worn out, carpets in places are threadbare. Bathroom had various it’s broken or loose. In the evenings was a constant smell of over cooked vegetables that was very unpleasant. Having spoken to locals it’s recently been taken over but it’s in need of HUGE investment I (and neither will my colleagues) definitely won’t be staying there again.

Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Garden - very pretty Plenty parking spaces. Breakfast - nice big Welsh breakfast. Spa not used. Room - Clean but small, health & safety issue with the bathroom sensor light due to light keep switching off when you are in the bathroom making it so dark. My husband was having a shower and he almost fall in the bathtub when the bathroom suddenly got really dark... No restaurants near by.

This is an excellent hotel that combines the quality of a luxury stay with the warmth of a welcoming home. The staff were friendly, professional, accommodating, and trustworthy throughout our visit. The spa was immaculate and featured excellent facilities, providing a truly relaxing experience. The underrated grounds were an unexpected highlight, with beautiful pieces of art thoughtfully dotted around the perimeter of the property. We dined in the Italian restaurant, which was superb. The quality of the food was outstanding, and the staff were attentive and welcoming. Overall, this is a wonderful hotel for couples and families alike who are looking to discover one of the island's hidden gems.

Really nice facilities and lovely location. You can use the spa facilities before the check in time so it's worth going earlier than the 3pm check in time

Its such a shame. A Beautiful mansion house that clearly needs some tlc and money spending on it. The building, grounds and amount of staffing needs addressing urgently! Dirty bed, bathroom & carpets are not acceptable.

Wondrous gardens. Lovely room and verandah. Staff welcoming…good restaurant and chill spaces. We will try the spa next.

Lovely relaxing spa would benefit from some relaxing piped music, room was spacious comfy big bed and quiet no noise from other residents could be heard. Evening meal "curry night" was excellent value and breakfast was cooked fresh to order would highly recommend.

Amazing place

Stayed here for a treat for our 20th wedding anniversary. Building is very interesting and the stay was great. Food in the restaurant was good (but be warned - the chef obviously likes his chillies judging by my Arrabiata and my wife's King Prawns!) The pool/spa was great - everything you would want and very clean. Would recommend for a relaxing break - go on treat yourself or someone you love.

The room was clean and comfortable. The pool and spa were good but sadly the steam room wasn't working during our 2 day stay but this wasn't a problem. The hotel fully met our expectations and we had a lovely break.

The spa was good, the room was quiet, the staff were very pleasant, a special mention for the waitress from stockton heath warrington who was so friendly. Outside grounds were lovely. I would recommend this hotel, maybe a bit more variation on the evening meal menu

All members of staff were friendly and extremely helpful. The accommodation and facilities were in a very good condition though our room was in need of upgrading to match that of other rooms. Would have liked to have seen a working safe and a fridge in the room. Spa facilities were excellent as were the dining options with no shortage of food on offer.We had a three night stay and would have gladly stayed longer had we been able to. Will definitely return and recommend this establishment for those seeking a peaceful and relaxing break.

The hotel is beautiful but it’s evident that it’s being run on a low budget. The spa facilities are great. The communal areas such as the toilets were filthy. Staff rarely offered a greeting. The check-in process was terrible and set the tone for the rest of the stay. The breakfast experience was positive with friendly staff. The hotel has potential to be a gem but poor staff and lack of cleanliness in areas really let it down
