Not good as expected

Staff was awesome. Free continental breakfast is good. Rooms were neat. Bathroom floor was very slippery after getting out of shower.

Since this a no smoking establishment, it was somewhat disgusting that the smoking area is located just outside the main entrance door, thus non smoking guests must walk through the smoke which also drifted into the front entrance and lobby area…we would suggest moving the smoking area away from the main entrance.

Good thing the staff are friendly cause that’s all that’s working for this hotel. Room was filthy - splatter on the bathroom walls & floor, gritty floor, don’t pull the curtains back (gross) & popcorn ceiling looked like it would fall in at any moment. Mattress had no spring - flat and hard . Supposed to offer free breakfast but an apple or banana in your hand was the extent of breakfast. Would NOT recommend.

Excellent location near the water and Centennial Park

This property was quite dirty. When asked about having our room cleaned, they stated that they don't offer daily room cleaning. If that was the case, they should notify the clientele of this.

Night desk clerk was rude and unhelpful. Was asking for an upstairs room due to feeling unsafe being on the main level. Clerk laughed in my face and told me because we had walked into our room she would have to get the cleaners to clean the floor and it would be “ too much work”. I pointed to my clean tennis shoes and asked her to clarify her comment. We will not be back or have anyone we know stay there. Very disappointing for the price we paid. Room was old. Bed was soft and uncomfortable. Breakfast was the highlight of our stay. They had eggs, sausage, waffles, lots of variety.

Some cockroaches on the room and running over the bed and No elevator.

Bathroom needed a bit more cleaning had bad smell.

Water on the floor with the excuse that "when it rains water just comes in". The outside door was broken and locked me out within the first 5 minutes of being there. The hotel smelled like cigarette smoke. I had to get a different hotel because this one was awful.

It is what it is done well.

Convenient

A very average stay…food was not good

Overall, this was an ok stay for the price. There was a large ship docked behind the hotel that had its engine running all night with a low rumble, along with the joining rooms the heaters vibration is also pretty loud. The room headboards has not been dusted in a long time but most of the room was clean. We unfortunately had a very loud drunk person yelling outside our room in the night. On the positive side the staff were friendly and breakfast was a fair bit better than expected with plenty of options.

I have been at Days Inn Sarnia by waterfront and it is always a comfortable stay with wonderful view of the river.

Window extremely dirty, dead bug on bed, another very visible on the wall, lipstick lip print on bedside lampshade, other lampshades dirty, some kind of large smear mark on wall - in general whole room seemed dirty, toilet rocked back and forth / poorly maintained.

The service at the front desk was excellent and happily accommodated a request. I enjoyed being right on the water and appreciated being able to park right outside my room. The room was comfortable and quiet, but I'll note there were items and bits of trash in the drawers and on the shelf left behind by previous guests (socks etc.) and the toilet was not as clean as one would hope. A bit more diligence on the part of the cleaning crew is needed.

It was right by the harbour. Nice view. Beautiful room! Breakfast was lovely as well
