Was in Room 424,the blind doesn’t go down fully so the light was shining in at 5am and their is a problem with the drainage in the room both reported to reception.Twice my keycard didn’t work and I had to go to reception and say to them,they look at you strangely when you say that as if you are lying.Definitely won’t visit again.

Great stay and have extended to an additional night. Staff are exceptional and nothing is a bother. Nice breakfast, free WiFi and Starbucks is a nice addition. We will be back

Busy and well equipped and fun

Late checking in and there was nobody around so had to wait. Not ideal when you arrive after midnight !

My stay was for 16 nights for work, I discovered on my third night that the HVAC was not working in my room. I reported this to reception and was informed that they were aware of this and assured me that maintenance would be sorting it the next day, and I was supplied with a fan and a heater - given that the there are only 1 spare power sockets I had to juggle the kettle, fan, heater and charging laptop, phones, ipads etc. After further 3 days I requested a room I requested a room change and was assured that the HVAC was working in the new room. Needless to say it wasn't and I had the daily pleasure of having my hopes dashed that I would have AC that night. Sleep with the window open??? When the weather was good, smokers gather along the front of the hotel and the rooms above inevitably fill with cigarette fumes and with no HVAC to clear the room one, when the weather was bad, I spend the nights opening and closing the window to avoid window banging or rain being blown onto the window sill. I understand that the HVAC repair would take time, but once it was obvious that it wasn't being repaired, why move me to a different room with the same problem - I've spent 96 nights at the Village hotel this year, I'm going to look for alternatives after my next (already booked) stay.

Car parking is charged at £5 a day even though in the rooms weekend parking is free. Reception stated it was out of date. Didn’t bother finding what else was out of date! Otherwise seemed ok

Staff at reception were brilliant ,room was very clean and spacious, breakfast buffet was one of the best we have had and can't fault anything about this hotel everything was fantastic really enjoyed our stay

We arrived just before 9:00pm and went to check in. No welcome! The guy on reception barely looked up when we said we want to check in. He stared at his screen for what seemed to be about 5 minutes then he left to get another person to help him. She never acknowledged us - just spoke briefly to the guy then he finally gave us the room key. He did offer two keys which was good. He never offered any breakfast information or car park information. When we asked about the parking he then asked for the car registration but still didn't tell us what the payment arrangements were. On our way to the room we noticed that the corridors had what seemed to be an effluent smell disguised by air freshner. Following days the smell was gone. Once we got to the room we noticed that there was only one towel. My wife went back to reception to ask for one where she was told " I can't leave the desk" - someone will be up later. It never came and I had to go to reception and ask again in the morning which was delivered promptly. This hotel is very busy and noisy as it has sports bars, a public gym and pool. Bangs and thumps start from the gym below from about 5:30am until about 10:30pm. There is loud music coming from the bar. If you open the bedroom window when you wake up all you hear is music and shouting from the gym classes below. The beds are comfortable. The bathroom could be brighter. The side of the WC is very close to the wall so a bit cramped. We will not be staying again.

We’ve been to this hotel multiple times and it keeps bringing us back. Everything you could want is on site and the restaurant have excellent food options available. Cannot recommend enough.

Very clean and modern hotel. You need to be early for breakfast thought went down at 9.45 Saturday morning and there was no bread left to make toast

The room was clean and so cozy. As a solo traveller this is everything you need without breaking the bank.

Very nice and relaxing place to come.

On arrival, we were not told what breakfast times were or where we could get breakfast. We asked about parking which we had paid extra for in our room to be told it was free at weekends anyway. We had paid for pool access on the room but were not told of where this was or how to access it. As it turns out, the pool and gym are well attended by locals and we barely got a chance to go but a timetable would have been helpful. Food was excellent in the pub and grill as well as at breakfast. We paid for extras in the room such as Nespresso machine, water and sweet treat. We only got one biscuit and upon asking for a refresh after night one, they did not top up the water nor did they top up the sweet treat. Shower was amazing as was the the king size bed. Great location.
