I stayed at this hotel over the April holidays in 2015. It was a father-son trip with my three-year-old to see the aquarium and relax by the pool. The pool is small and shallow, but it was very good for small kids. The water was up to my son's chin so he could move around on tip-toes and still be immersed. The rooms in the hotel are cramped and dark, but clean and modern and the bathrooms are pretty decent for hotels in this range. The hotel is remote and would be hard to find on your own. There are perhaps a couple of places to eat nearby, but generally eating and getting around may be a problem if you don't have your own transport. The scooter rental that the hotel tried to arrange was NT$1000 per day over the holidays and I wouldn't pay it on principle. But the hotel offers shuttle service into Hengchun and that may work fine for most people. There's an adequate breakfast buffet and an evening snack. The staff was really great and sincerely accommodating. There's not a lot of English spoke, but you can expect someone will speak enough to communicate most needs. While I wasn't overly impressed with the facilities, my son loved everything about the hotel and all the fish-themed decor and that made it very enjoyable. And again, I really appreciated the staff. I'd say if you have kids, it's a good place to go.
