This was our third stay at Halifax Hall. We love that it’s within easy walking distance of Sheffield Hospital. The hotel is set in beautiful grounds, and is and quiet and peaceful Check in was quick and the reception staff were polite and welcoming. Our room on the ground floor was quite small but perfectly adequate for our needs. The bathroom however, was large with a lovely walk in shower. There was a coffee machine with a supply of different coffee pods, and a selection of biscuits. We liked that you could help yourself to extra Coffee,biscuits ,chocolate teacakes and milk at a fridge in the corridor. We dined in the restaurant on this stay but unfortunately we didn’t enjoy our meal. I think that perhaps we just made the wrong choice from the menu. The bed was very comfortable,and we had an excellent nights sleep. We didn’t have the included breakfast as my wife was nil by mouth ,but on our previous stays it was very good. Checkout was quick and easy,and we were able to leave our car in the car park for the duration of my wife’s appointment at the hospital.

Room was okay TV only had about 5 channels working and WiFi kept on cuttting out Was good for a one night sleep for work Food and drink was good and staff were very friendly and helpful

The room was clean and the bathroom a generous size with a good shower and the bed comfortable. However the room itself was small with nowhere to really put a bag or a case and the chair by the table blocked the wardrobe so it was not possible to access the wardrobe Unless the chair was moved. The breakfast was a great choice with freshly made hot food to order and there was a good supply of biscuits and drinks for the room. We were only there for the one night so the room size was not too much of an issue but to be borne in mind if staying longer. Everything else was great.

A wonderful old steel baron's residence. There were halls of residence next door but I slept fine. A wonderful freshly cooked breakfast with quality ingredients.

We appreciated the little touches in this hotel - a coffee machine (nespressso decaf too) in a room, each floor has biscuits and fresh milk for guests, which was lovely. Just be aware that there’s no lift, so carrying bags upstairs can be a bit of a workout.

Service was absolutely poor. Room key card did not work and was having to wait 20 minutes at reception for a member of staff to assist me. Fresh bedding and towels was not changed on a daily basis and parking is beyond poor with how many limited spaces there are. The room itself was really small and the bedding felt cheap. Almost like a travelodge experience. Would not recommend. Was terribly let down considering it was our wedding weekend
