We stayed here for a night & checked out early in the next day for whale watching. Breakfast for taken away was only biscuit and 2 bananas. Location is good and near to beach. Room was comfortable with hot shower. Hotel staffs were nice but poor communication between them. We called the hotel the day before we check-in and asked for an extra room for our driver, the staff told us we could pay a bit more and would arrange it for us. However, when we checked-in in the evening, the reception knew nothing & no arrangement was made. Finally, our driver had to find his accommodation nearby in a hurry that night.

Superfin pool, men svårt att vistas vid den på eftermiddag/ kväll då det är väldigt mycket mygg. Vi hade familjerummet längst in (mot poolen) och vår uteplats var omöjlig att använda efter kl 16 då det var hundratals mygg. I övrigt- fin resort, trevlig personal, bra men slitna rum och jättebra frukost. Väldigt bra läge!

Lovely hotel, nice breakfast, room was cleaned daily, staff were very friendly. Beautiful pool for relaxing. Would definitely return. Lovely restaurants nearby and beach too n walking distance.

Nice small hotel close to the beach, town and bars etc. Nice pool and bar area and food is good (we had to pay extra for breakfast). Ideal for a short break, the hotel arranged turtle swimming for us and can organise many other trips, also Spa on site. We had travelled from Tissa and first impressions here was that Marissa was very touristy and the route to the “secret beach” is a rubbish strewn dirt track, however once we settled in, we enjoyed the area.

Lovely hotel with extremely friendly and helpful staff. Located a few minutes from the beach and lots of lovely restaurants. Rooms are a great size. Only negative was a very noisy peacock living close by, but we had ear plugs so it didn't disrupt our stay. Great breakfast with lots to choose from.

Otroligt bra service, god frukost och bra mat på deras meny, bra pool! Vi spenderade 3 nätter här i början av vår vistelse och valde att åka tillbaka sista dagarna för att bo här igen! Bästa stället vi bott på i hela Sri Lanka!

Fantastisk opphold. Personalet er svært behjelpelig og vennlige. Grunnet en misforståelse trodde hotellet at meg og min venninne at vi var tre, og vi fikk derfor familierom. Rommet var helt fantastisk med to senger, derav en stor king size med dobbeltdyne. Frokosten er enkel, men veldig god. De steker egg om du ønsker. God beliggenhet, med kort vei til stranden. Grunnet sent fly på dagen for utsjekk, fikk vi et eget rom der vi kunne ha bagasjen og kunne dusje etter å ha vært på stranden. Alt i alt et fantastisk overnattingssted på Sri Lanka.

Staff were very friendly. Pool is beautiful with lounge chairs. A/C was very good. Room was very clean with private balcony. Wifi spotty at times. Breakfast is good with a lovely location. Beach day is an easy walk (5 min.). Many good restaurants nearby.

Schöne Zimmer, modernes Bad, großer Pool, schöner Garten und Essensbereich. Frühstück weniger gut.

Meilleur hôtel qu’on ai fait au Sri Lanka. Personnel super, de bons conseils et toujours prêt à nous aider. Piscine magnifique et eau toujours chaude. Bons petits déjeuner. Nous avions une chambre au rdc, vu sur la piscine, le top.

Property highly recommended! The location was great. the pool too! The room very comfy and clean. The staff was amazing and very helpful! they had amazing recommendation (like a Spa and some shops), definitely follow their recommendation. The breakfast was cool too.

The room was not in the best shape and would certainly deserve some refurbishment. WiFi was ok and swimming pool as well. The breakfast was very good.

We had a great stay at Handagedara! The service was great and the owners were extremely helpful. They helped us arrange safari as well as transport to our next destination, and they also gave us a little snackpack for the safari. Room was clean and cute. The breakfast was served on a nice balcony with a view over the pool and green garden. However, breakfast was a bit disappointing. We expected more options from the buffet, both because it is called a buffet and also because the accommodation was more expansive than other hotels. This buffet was very similar to the things we got at other accommodations were a breakfast platter was served instead. The coffee could also have been much stronger. But overall, it was a great stay at Handagedara!
