The welcome at reception was warm, and the hotel clean and tidy. I had two problems. The TV volume was restricted and too quiet for our comfort. Reception said maintenance would deal with it, but they didn't. However, the room next door seemed to have no restriction, as we could hear their TV better than our own! It was irritating and felt rather insulting. The second issue was the height of the magnifying mirror in the bathroom, which was obviously fitted by a very tall person, as it was of no use to me as a short person! The hotel was quiet and well positioned to explore the area.

Receptionist was friendly and welcoming. Our request of ground floor room was met. Room reasonably clean, water left in kettle which is a pet hate and previous occupants empty tablet blister strip on floor!

My room was very comfortable and good value. My evening meal was excellent and the Chef kiondly agreed to cook, albeit 10 minutes after final orders. Breakfast was generic and not what I ordered.

Clean room but it was disappointing to find a damp towel underneath a pillow.
