Good name and nice location. Adjacent to bay but no beach, or the short beach is gravelly. No corals to see around. Excellent and friendly staff

Real get-away-from-it-all type of place.

Resort is hard to judge by western standards as infrastructures and cultures are completely different. Driftwood gave us a good, clean and safe base from which to travel to see the true culture and beauty of this area of PNG . Management we're extremely helpful, staff were very pleasant and friendly. Travellers need to be slightly adventurous and searching to explore the area as there are few conventional tours setup.You need to hire local guides to get out of the Alatou area as the town itself has few redeeming features.
