Staff were fantastic making many local travel arrangement for us and advising where to eat and get local provisions. Location is great, in the hub but not too noisy. We were a party of 4, staying 3 nights and we would recomend this hotel highly for the price.

Room was clean, bright and spacious. Breakfast was tasty and service was good. Location was very good. An English movie channel would be appreciated for those who don’t speak Hindi. 😁

The room was a good size but the floors and bathroom were dirty. The towels were clean. They should provide 1 bottle of water everyday you are there instead of just 1 for the whole stay. It's also in a part of town that gets noisy at night so if loud noise isn't your thing, stay somewhere else.

Nice location and close proximity to the interesting spots in Puducherry. Could have been great, if they had arranged for car parking

Very average hotel and definitely not worth the price quoted. The staff is never available and there is no front desk to reach out to the hotel staff in case you need something. Very basic amenities. No Car parking which becomes a problem in case you're traveling by car. The free breakfast that is included in the fare is very basic and is not served before 8.30 am so if you plan to leave early in the morning you'd end up missing it as it starts too late. No toilet paper in the washroom. Overall a very average place for the price you pay.

No wifi in the 2nd floor though they kept insisting. Could only connect yo first floor WiFi. Nice people, very loud and busy street. Expensive for what you get compared to other cities.

We arrived at the hotel and were not greeted by any employees or management personnel. After waiting for nearly 10 minutes, a staff person finally arrived and proceeded to show us to a room that was not at all what is advertised on Expedia's website. This person did not ask for ANY identifying information about myself (no proof of identity, no passport, no ID card etc.) and just brought us upstairs. He showed us to the room which was filthy (dirty sheets, unkempt/unwashed floors, doors that would not lock properly), at which time we voiced our desire to cancel the reservation and left the property immediately. As this reservation was booked and pre-paid through Expedia, the hotel did not agree to refund this cancellation. After 3 phone calls with Expedia and numerous attempts to request a refund, the request has been denied again and again (with the hotel claiming we made use of our booking fully, although they have absolutely no proof we were ever checked in). Needless to say, I will ABSOLUTELY NOT be booking through Expedia again. You lost a valued and loyal customer today.

This hotel is bang in the middle of Pondicherry. A great location if you want to be central. However, be prepared for noisy nights - all the rooms are facing the street and things are loud as expected in India. The rooms were average and felt a little aged and the floor had quite a bit of stains - didn't feel as clean - for western standards that is. But for local standards this hotel is very nice. The wifi is also very slow - so don't expect to be working - some light browsing will work and certain rooms don't quite have range and the latency is very slow. However, the owners made an exceptional effort and went above and beyond with their amazing Christmas meal for our girls (they opened the kitchen just for us) and were very kind with additional bedding and advice on the area etc. Just goes to show how an average hotel can end up being a great experience when the owners are involved in its daily operations. Well done!

I had a very pleasant stay at Red Lotus for just one night, a quick stop in Pondi. I loved that it was close to so many of the sites, and I felt very comfortable walking around the area (as a solo foreigner woman). The only complaints I have: the wifi did not work while I was there, and also I think the room locks could be safer. It is just a padlock on the door. The service was great, the young men running the front desk were very accommodating and answered all my questions with knowledge. The Rishi Ayuverdic massage was a nice suggestion! Breakfast was also tasty and the rooftop has a nice ambience. I think they still have some improvements to make considering the price to stay, but overall it is a very quaint place.

While not fancy, the taste is simple and appealing. Modern with plants around - especially on the roof. Not fond of the Buddha theme, but I'm tolerant :-) Breakfast was simple, but had eggs, fruit and some Indian idli. My room had a motorcycle theme - and it was ok. AC worked, shower was great, bed was comfy, internet worked, can't complain.

Hotel is very inexpensive so for the price what should the expectations be ? Soft furnishings in rooms could do with a wash. Basic breakfast was fine but no curd available but was on the menu. I also found a pin in my bed which gave me a prickly surprise in the middle of the night. If the hotel is full you might run out of water for a shower but this was quickly fixed by turning on the pumps. Staff were friendly, great location but if you can't cope with the traffic noise take ear plugs. Overall, we enjoyed our stay - very quirky interior decoration.

Had to cancel, struggled to park my car for 1 hour with no help from the hotel person. Requested him multiple times but was told to find a place my self in a crowded bazaar. Was with 2 small kids and people were not letting me to drop them near the hotel with luggage. Had to go to another hotel.

The hotel was good and very close to the beach. Cozy and comfortable. Liked the interiors. Although the WiFi connectivity was not good and no varieties of breakfast. But overall, I enjoyed and would definitely recommend for a budget stay.
