The staff at the front desk is excellent. Very friendly during the check-in. She always smiles and tells me the location of the room. Feel happy to receive a Christmas card from the staff. The cups and the electric kettle are clean. I feel safe when using them. Wifi connection is good and stable. There are three electrical sockets in front of the desk. I can charge my phone and laptop at the same time. However, there is still room for improvement. The room is not clean. There was rubbish under the table when I first entered the room. The bed is nice and comfortable. But the pillow is too flat. The soundproofing is poor. I can hear people living above me, including walking, talking and the sound from the television. It is extremely noisy. I have to wait for almost 2 mins until hot water comes out from the bathtub and water tab. There is no curtain in the bathroom, and water splashes everywhere. Overall, I think the room is not satisfactory. It does not worth 230 pounds for three nights.

It is a joining-together of four individual properties so a number of steps to make your way around. The breakfast is excellent with a nice choice by very helpful staff.

Good location for our purpose. Friendly staff. No Toilet brush in the room. One bed lamp was a bit loose.

Parking costs £10 a night, didn't have breakfast, but we needed an extension cable for a medical machine. I use a sleep apnea device which has to be plugged in by the bed. We asked staff and they just couldn't help us.

Parking was easy. The welcome was warm and check-in was easy. The room was very clean with blackout curtains and a huge wet room style shower. Breakfast was great. The staff were excellent.

Friendly staff who went out of their way to help. Special thanks to Alison on reception. Lovely breakfast and ideal location for our visit to the neighbouring hospital. Building could do with a bit TLC but didn’t impact upon our stay.

You get what you pay for and while there was nothing particularly wrong with The Rutland, you are aware you are staying in a budget hotel. The staff I spoke to were great but trying to order anything when reception werent available was pointless - didnt get served for a drink in the reception area and went to the room to order room service instead, which I cancelled after 20 minutes and no show - next time I'd book a premier inn or something rather than chance somewhere like this. Its a dated building and it shows - I feel like it has a specific target audience and I wasnt that

Shower in our room the thermostatic control was faulty . water was extremely hot and could not be regulated. Needs urgent attention as it s a safety issue.

The corridors needed painting and the carpets and bedrooms need modernising but it was a clean hotel with basic amenities. Staff were pleasant and the breakfast was very good with lovely cooked food. Very good value for money

I stayed for one night for work and it was a good stay. The bed was big and very comfortable and the room was clean. I ate in the restaurant and the food was tasty with big portions and very reasonably priced. My stay was very comfortable and it all went smoothly. Thank you everyone!

Breakfast was fine and staff were really friendly. But hotel is really shabby, I was pretty shocked compared to pictures. Room wasn't the cleanest.

I booked this room as a birthday/valentines day gift for my mother. She stayed with her partner and tells me that she had a wonderful time. She said the room was amazing and immaculate and she had the best time. Thankyou.

Easy check-in, nice room, bit of a maze (but well sign-posted) and breakfast was mediocre. Would stay again, but eat elsewhere.
